The Vietnam Soya Milk Company (Vinasoy), on Mar.18, held a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of a Vinasoy factory at VSIP II A in Tan Uyen town. Attending the event were Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with leaders of the local, central ministries and sectors.
Vinasoy is a member of the Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company, with nearly 20 years of operating in the soya milk sector and now takes the lead in the sector and accounts for 84.2% of the whole domestic market share.
In Aug.2015, Vinasoy Bac Ninh factory-phase 2 was also inaugurated with the capacity of 180mln liters of soya milk per year, bringing Vinasoy’s total capacity to 300mln liters of soya milk per year. The result has helped Vinasoy been among the world’s top five soya milk producer. Following the success, Vinasoy began construction on its third plant in Binh Duong with total investment of more than US$900bln and capacity of 180mln liters of soya milk per year. Its phase 1 with the capacity of 90mln liters of soya milk per year is scheduled to be put into operation after 18 months of construction.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Vinasoy continued presenting additional VND5bln to the Vietnam soya milk industry’s study promotion fund, bringing the total value of the fund to VND10bln a year, equivalent to 3mln boxes of soya milk a year, contributing to decreasing the rate of malnutrition in children in poor areas of the country.
Addressing the ceremony, on behalf of provincial leaders, Mr.Liem hailed Vitasoy’s investment project in the province while wanting that Vinasoy will further expand the project so that Binh Duong could become a center distributing hi-quality soya milk products for the whole Southeast Asian region.
