Workshop on technology transfer and human resource training in the environment industry held

On July 28, at Provincial Exhibition and Convention Center, the Provincial People's Committee in collaboration with the Economic, Trade and Industry Bureau of Kansai Japan (METI Kansai) held a seminar on technology transfer and human resource training in environmental industry in Binh Duong province. Mai Hung Dung, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, attended the workshop.

In the opening speech at the workshop, Mai Hung Dung said that environmental issues such as wastewater, emissions, industrial waste and energy saving increasingly concerned Binh Duong provincial leadership. Especially, in the era of science and technology development, education and training of human resources to acquire new knowledge, qualifications and technology is not only important but also very urgent. Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hoped that the two sides of Vietnam - Japan in general, Binh Duong province and METI Kansai in particular, would enhance mutual understanding through the introduction of environmental issues, with knowledge of environmental management based on past experiences and efforts of enterprises in Japan, and will coordinate, support Binh Duong province to better implement environmental protection.

At the conference, delegates discussed some topics such as: Environment in Binh Duong province; current status and issues in environmental regulations; project efforts of local authorities in developing, implementing, and promulgating waste regulations; efforts in formulating, implementing and promulgating regulations on wastewater at business establishments in Osaka City; pollution treatment measures in Japan and proposals for Vietnam…
