Young people join hands to build homeland in the renewal period

On Jan 1st 1997, Song Be province was divided into two provinces, Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc. Then Binh Duong province entered the process of construction and development. Along with the development of the province, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Binh Duong province has also had many innovations through each period. Many youth projects and movements have left a good impression. Union officials, members, and young people over the years have tried best to learn, work, be creativity, master science - technology, international integration, contributing to building a civilized, prosperous and beautiful Binh Duong.

Youth Union and Youth Federation of the province receive the excellent emulation flag in youth work from the Central Union in 2020.

From early days of the Renewal period

To inherit and promote practical experience of youth movements of Song Be province (former), and disseminate the 6th Binh Duong Provincial Party Congress Resolution (1997-2000), Binh Duong youth determine to well implement youth activities and movements in the first five years after the provincial re-establishment (1997-2002). Namely, these were tasks, such as: popularization and education to raise young people's awareness about the obligation to protect the Fatherland; be alert to plots and tricks of hostile forces in order to raise the sense of protecting the Party and revolutionary achievements; promote social resources and youth organizations to protect and take care of teenagers and children; actively prevent juvenile delinquency; mobilize the youth to participate actively in the work of the rear and army; develop twinning activities, unite three forces, movements "For border and island soldiers"...

In the development process, the question is how to gather young workers, a large labor force, so that they have places to live, play and recreate, thereby contributing to the local industrialization and modernization. Meanwhile, the youth began to pay attention to solidarity and gathering young entrepreneurs in the province to contribute to the socio-economic development. In 1999, the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association was established.

In general, youth activities and movement in Binh Duong province in the 1997-2002 tenure gathered a large number of young people, with the support of departments, unions and people, contributing to the effective implementation of socio-economic, national defense - security goals of the province, affirming the important position of youth organizations and the youth in the new period.

Join hands to heighten innovation

Entering early years of the 21st century, in Binh Duong, the renewal process has achieved many important results, people's living standards have been improved. The 7th Congress of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (tenure 2002-2007) identified important goals and tasks, which were: Strengthening education of programs, guidelines and policies of the Party and policies, laws of the State; to well perform the development of unions, focus on improving the quantity and quality of membership; well implement regulations on grassroots democracy; renew and strengthen the advisory role of Youth Union at all levels to Party committees at all levels in leading, directing and organizing youth works...

During this period, 5 million turns of young volunteers participated in youth activities. Some prominent activities were "Vietnamese youth move forward under the Party flag", "Lighting up tradition, forever 20 years old", the campaign "Vietnamese youth live, fight, work and learn, following the example of the great Uncle Ho" launched by the Central Youth Union. At this stage, the Provincial Youth Volunteer Team was established in 2004, and was tasked with gathering unemployed youth and organizing young volunteers into a young workforce to participate in the socio-economic development programs and projects of the province; organizing media events, advertising services…

In 2007, a fund to support migrant youth was also established. The fund raised nearly 200 million VND to take care of young workers living far away from home and having difficult circumstances, and organize cultural, artistic, and sports activities for thousands of young workers. Besides, the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association has also supported and maintained job creation for local young workers...

Pioneering, Volunteering and Creative

Since 2007, the socio-economic sectors of Binh Duong province has seen many good changes. Economic growth rate was high. However, at this stage, youth work also faced a huge challenge, which was, the migrant labor force accounted for 50% of provincial youth force, and required the youth aggregation and gathering to have many innovations, be creative, practical, and effective. Besides, in the strong development of 4.0 technologies and extensive international integration, Binh Duong youth have considered the education and training of Youth Union as a sharp weapon, a driving force to encourage and gather young people.

Therefore, under the leadership and orientation of the Provincial Party Committee and the Secretariat of Youth Union Central Committee, provincial Youth Union and its branches have constantly created and innovated contents and operations to suit the new situation. Notably, the application of information technology was enhanced through video conferences throughout the province, online communication channels, general website of Provincial Youth Union and social networking sites of youth organizations at all levels, infographic products and clips; youth activity documents, creative publications, such as annual desk calendar...

On the other hand, during this period, the Provincial Youth Union also focused on building a strong team of officials, attached importance to all stages of staffing; improved the quality and efficiency of solidarity and gathering of Binh Duong young workers; Youth Union's revolutionary activities and movements continued to arouse and strongly encourage the pioneer, volunteer spirit, creativity, and attracted the participation of a large number of young people. In particular, in two years 2020 and 2021, young people in the province were resilient, together with the government and people, fought against the Covid-19 pandemic with many practical and meaningful programs and actions...

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said that with diverse and constantly innovated and creative activities, youth work in Binh Duong province in recent years has achieved many outstanding results, which were appreciated by the Central Youth Union, Provincial Party Committee, all levels, branches and people. Youth Union members and Binh Duong youth today never forget the great merits and sacrifices of previous generations of Song Be and Binh Duong provinces.
