One day in March, right from the early morning, people in Tan Long commune in Phu Giao district were present at the hall of the communal People's Committee for free medical examination and treatment, with an excited mood. Chu Thi Le shared: “I am old with weak health, difficult family conditions, so I cannot afford for regular medical examination. Fortunately, there is a delegation of doctors arriving in the commune to provide free medical examination and advice for locals. I and others in the commune came here to get free medical checkups very early". At noon, about 100 people and policy families with difficult circumstances in An Long and Tan Long communes were examined and given medicine free of charge.

Doan Thi Thuy Phuong, Secretary of Phu Giao district’s Youth Union said: "Determining that public healthcare is an important task, the district’s Youth Union has actively set up plans and coordinated with the health sector to provide free medical examination, consultation and medicine for those with difficult circumstances, policy beneficiary families...The medical examination and treatment sessions were carefully prepared, with the participation of doctors, medical workers, Youth Union members, volunteers... They also contributed to raising Youth Union officials, members ‘awareness of the role, responsibility and meaning of taking care of public healthcare while responding to the Youth Month 2022.
Upholding voluntary spirit
In Bau Bang district, the activities of providing free medical check-ups and medicine for people were organized by the local Youth Union in collaboration with the Youth Union of provincial Police Agency and Binh Duong Medic Hospital under the program of "Compassionate bus - Journey for public health". Accordingly, the program provided medical examination, consultation and medicine free of charge to 200 people, including policy beneficiary families, young workers and those with difficult circumstances.
Huynh Thi De aged at 64 said: “I come here early in the morning when I heard that a group of young doctors will provide free medical checkups and medicine for people. I have pain and difficulty in sleeping for a long time, due to old age. Therefore, I often go to the pharmacy to buy medicine for a few of days, but then my health condition gets bad again. So far, I have not had the opportunity to go for a medical examination. Today, being examined and given medicine by young doctors, I as well as others in the commune are very grateful!"
"Through public healthcare activities, the Youth Unions of Bau Bang district and provincial Police Agency want to widely propagandize the spirit of "Good leaves protect the torn ones - Mutual love, mutual affection” among Youth Union members through taking care of people facing difficulties due to Covid-19 pandemic. The task also strengthens prevention, timely detection and treatment of diseases for people, contributing to reducing healthcare costs for policy beneficiaries and people with difficult circumstances”, said Nguyen Huynh Nguyen Vy, Secretary of Bau Bang district’s Youth Union.
Through the activities of providing free medical checkups and medicine for people in the district, the program's doctors and nurses discovered, advised and guided many cases suffering from diseases to hospitals for timely examination and treatment, contributing to improving the local people’s health.
Joining hands to take care of the local people's health, the Youth Union of Thuan Giao ward in Thuan An city also cooperated with the Youth Union branches of PA01 and PA02 under provincial Police Agency and provincial Job Placement Center to visit, provide medical examination and medicine for the local policy beneficiary families. This is one of activities done by the ward’s Youth Union in response to the Youth Month 2022 with the most practical and meaningful deeds, thereby arousing pride and voluntary spirit in each Youth Union cadre and member, creating an exciting emulation movement in the Youth Month 2022.
Free medical examination and medicine distribution have had a deep-wide impact and received support from local authorities and people. In any place, this activity has also received a lot of love, affection and respect from people.
