Youth union members across the country are organising a variety of activities to mark the 80th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26).
An exhibition opened at Lam Son Park in Ho Chi Minh City on March 22 to display more than 100 photographs highlighting the glorious tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union over the past 80 years.
The exhibition focuses on young people’s movements against foreign aggressors in the past as well as their achievements during the country’s current renewal process.
The same day, a similar exhibition called “Ho Chi Minh City vanguard force – 35 years of establishment and development”, showcasing nearly 200 photographs and posters, was also held at the city’s Chi Lang Park.
On the occasion, the Quang Ngai provincial Youth Union held a meeting to honour youth union officials and members who have made great contributions to the development of Quang Ngai province and the nation.
During the Youth Year in 2011, Secretary of the Quang Ngai provincial Youth Union, Bui Thi Quynh Van, said that local young people will focus on environmental protection and humanitarian activities.
The Youth Union of Thua Thien-Hue province organised a get-together for former youth union officials along with an awards ceremony to honour outstanding youth union officials and members.
Nguyen Quang Tuan, Secretary of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial Youth Union, said that many activities will be held in March, including a camping festival and a dialogue between local officials and youth union members.
