Youth Volunteer Year motivated

Taking Tet care of Youth Union members is one of activities annually realized by provincial Youth Unions at all levels. This year, they have also implemented many plans and activities in order to start the Youth Volunteer Year with a desire of bringing a warm Tet to all people.

On the first days of the New Year 2019, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee organized a ceremony to launch the “Winter Volunteer Program” 2018 and “Spring Volunteer Program” 2019 with many significant gifts for pupils and Cham ethnic minority people in Dau Tieng district’s Minh Hoa commune. This was the first program of provincial Youth Unions at all levels to motivate a spring with meaningful activities. Before the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2018, they have also focused on mobilizing resources to care for Youth Union members.

Nguyen Tan Dat, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union said that provincial Youth Union’s plan to motivate the Youth Volunteer Year and activities in celebration of the Party and Lunar New Year 2019 is organized from December 2018 to February 17, 2019 (January 13 of lunar calendar) at industrial parks, universities, colleges, social humanitarian centers, youth model lodging facilities…Especially, provincial Youth Unions at all levels will attach special importance to taking care of policy beneficiary families, heroic Vietnamese mothers, lonely elderly people, the families of soldiers in border and island areas, poor children, young workers’ offspring…

Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee is expected to organize a ceremony to motivate the Youth Volunteer Year, implement volunteer projects for 2019 with peak contents such as taking young workers and students with difficult circumstances to their hometowns for Tet; launch an emulation campaign to mark the 50^th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament; organize art performances and recreational activities in celebration of the Party and Lunar New Year, offer gifts to Trade Union cadres who are in charge of uniting and gathering young workers…

Particularly, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee will offer Tet gifts, bus tickets to young workers with difficult circumstances; organize competitions on making cakes for Tet, decorating apricot and beach blossoms; open market-days selling goods at basic prices; hold booths on folk games, free haircut; set up a model youth lodging facility; donate “dream” rooms to workers with difficult circumstances…For Youth Union branches at district level, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has encouraged units to organize ceremonies to motivate the Volunteer Youth Year with a series of activities taking care of children at hospitals, lodging facilities, charity classes…in line with their real situation.

Along with activities taking care of the material life of poor and policy beneficiaries, provincial Youth Unions at all levels have prepared cultural-sports programs in the Party and Lunar New Year 2019 for Youth Union members…Huynh Thanh Tra, Secretary of provincial Business Bloc’s Youth Union said that on the occasion of the Tet festival 2019 said that the bloc’s Youth Union will plan to organize a “Gathering in Tet holiday” program for alien youths; present 40 gifts to young workers; organize cultural-sport activities for Youth Union members, bringing them a warm and animated Tet atmosphere.

Tet is approaching and the efforts by the local youths in taking care of the poor and policy beneficiaries will contribute to helping many families enjoy a joyful and cozy Tet, thereby affirming the role of the Youth Union in ensuring social welfare, contributing to building up the image of youths full of compassion and increasing solidarity among them.
