1.6 mln laborers to be offered jobs in 2014

Early January 6, provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Thanh Liem and leaders of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs attended an online conference on implementation of the affairs relating to labor, national contributors and society in 2014, which was organized by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).

According to a report of MoLISA, the whole country in 2013 generated jobs for more than 1.545mln laborers or 96.5% of the year’s plan; gave vocational training for more than 1.73mln, up 14% compared to 2012; built and upgraded 17,500 gratitude houses, mobilized more than VND212bln for the Gratitude Fund; effectively realized poverty reduction programs, contributing to reducing the ratio of the whole country’s poor households to 7.8%, down by 1.8% compared to the period of late 2012; made payment of regular allowances for around 2.6mln people with a total expense of more than VND7.121trillion…

At the conference, delegates from provinces and cities nationwide contributed ideas for measures to fulfill of 2014’s targets such as creating jobs for 1.6mln people, 87,000 of whom will be sent abroad to work; increasing the number of laborers joining social insurance; giving vocational training for 1.78mln people; reducing the ratio of poor households to 1.7%-2% compared to 2013; having 96% of communes, wards excelling at affairs relating war invalids, martyrs’ families and those who rendered services to the national revolution…
