2015 National Workers’ Month and provincial Week for Young Workers launched in Bau Bang, Tan Uyen

Early May 10, Bau Bang district’s Steering Board for Children and Teenagers’ Activities grandly held a ceremony to launch the 2015 National Workers’ Month and provincial Week for Young Workers.

Attending the event were Vo Thanh Giau, Vice-Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People’s Committee, Head of the Steering Board; leaders of communes, representatives of enterprises together with more than 300 Youth Union members and young workers from 23 Youth Unions and enterprises in the district.

Accordingly, the 2015 National Workers’ Month and provincial Week for Young Workers will take place from May 1 to May 31, 2015 with a variety of activities such as presenting 12 gifts worth VND500,000 each to young workers with difficult circumstances; providing free medical check-up and medicine for 200 young workers; organizing cultural-sports activities; opening free classes on computing; introducing jobs to young workers…

After the launching ceremony, the organizers kicked off a mini-football tournament and a culinary contest. Long Nguyen commune won first prize at the football tournament. Tan Hung grasped second prize while third prize went to Tru Van Tho and Lai Hung.

At the culinary contest, the organizers also awarded first, second and third prizes to Long Nguyen commune, Khai Hoan Company and Lai Uyen commune, respectively.

*Late May 10, Tan Uyen town’s Steering Board for Children and Teenagers’ Activities organized a ceremony to launch the 2015 National Workers’ Month and provincial Week for Young Workers.

Accordingly, the town will organize a range of practical activities for young workers from May 10 to 15, including kicking off a festive day for young workers in Tan Hiep ward; joining hands with relevant agencies to open a class on national defence-security for young workers…Each commune and ward in the town will also organize at least one cultural-sports activity for young workers, set up at least one Youth Union branch in each non-State enterprise.

At the ceremony, the Steering Board awarded 30 support packages worth VND500,000 each to young workers with difficult circumstances. Competitions on “Beauty of female workers” and “Propaganda dancing groups” also took place right after the ceremony. Eventually, Vinh Tan commune won first prize at the “Propaganda dancing groups” competition. And first prize at the “Beauty of female workers” competition went to Nguyen Phuong Lam of Phu Chanh commune.
