Update: 28-06-2024 | 14:41:51

Unlike normal weekends, in Binh Duong recently there have been special Saturdays when thousands of people come together in harmony. They act together in "Civilized Saturday" for a livable Binh Duong.

Officials, CPV members, union members, association members, and people of Bau Bang district join hands to act for "Civilized Saturday"

Civilized ideology...

Last Saturday, at Bau Bang district square, the atmosphere was lively and joyful, spreading throughout the streets. Laughter filled the air, along with the soaring voices of singers, creating a symphony to welcome "Civilized Saturday". At 6:30 am, hundreds of officials, civil servants, party members, union members, and people from all walks of life gathered at the square to celebrate "Civilized Saturday". The backdrop is set right in front of the eyes of the attendees with the slogan: "Small actions, big changes". The weather that day was cool, and the singer's voice rang out: "The environment, not far away, the green, the beauty is all around us. The environment, right in every home, in every village and through the streets. The environment, on every road, and on everything around us. Love, a peaceful life, a clean green space, and a long life."

After the songs expressing environmental love, the Organizing Committee of the Cultural and Civilized Living Project in Bau Bang district launched and implemented the "Civilized Saturday". At the garbage exchange point for gifts, hundreds of people lined up with baskets, bags filled with plastic waste, paper, beer cans,... to exchange for practical gifts. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lanh, Dong So neighborhood, Lai Uyen town, shares: "I participate in this program because I want to contribute to environmental protection and also to receive useful gifts for my family. Instead of littering, now I can sort waste and exchange it for gifts.”

In the hamlets across the district, the people are also excited because they are being given green trees as part of the project. Each green tree given is not just a gift, but also a symbol of life, love, and a shared sense of responsibility to protect the environment.

Mr. Vo Thanh Giau, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bau Bang district, said that the launching ceremony of "Civilized Saturday" aims to disseminate and call on all cadres, party members, civil servants, employees, youth union members, and people from all walks of life in the district to join hands in environmental protection activities; building a cultured and civilized way of life in the area. Through practical and appropriate actions in line with the actual situation at the organization, unit, and local level, we will gradually build a civilized, modern, and developed Bau Bang in the future, making a worthy contribution to the overall development of the province.

The vintage cars run very slowly, the loudspeakers echo: "According to the 2020 Environmental Protection Law, the classification of household solid waste at the source is no longer encouraged to be voluntarily implemented by households and individuals, instead it is mandatory to apply." A parade of vehicles travels through various central routes of the district for several hours to disseminate, instruct, and provide the people with information such as: Classification, collection frequency, transportation; collection, transportation, and processing costs. Nearly ten vehicles spread in all directions, sending out a message: "For a green Earth and a clean and beautiful homeland Binh Duong, every household and individual should join hands to protect the environment, implement waste classification at the source, and hand it over to the collection, transportation, and treatment facilities in accordance with regulations."

Implementing the movement of emulating exemplary veterans, we hope that the image of veterans joining hands for "Civilized Saturday" will contribute to spreading and raising awareness among the people in building a "clean city"; building Binh Duong province to be more civilized and modern. In addition to cleaning and promoting the contents of Project 02, the Veterans Association also donated 35 ornamental plants to be planted along the alleys managed by the neighborhood associations, with the desire to contribute to having more green, clean, and beautiful streets.
