Ben Cat City implements hourly household waste collection

Update: 05-07-2024 | 13:21:02

Ben Cat City has been promoting and guiding residents on waste classification, proper waste management, and collection to prevent environmental pollution and protect people's health and livelihoods. The city plan is to collect waste hourly and stop placing trash cans on roads that cause an unaesthetic appearance.

Accordingly, the city has planned and arranged a land fund to invest in a household solid waste transfer station in Tan Dinh ward. The City People's Committee also directed communes and wards to coordinate with relevant agencies to implement planning, layout, and invest in building domestic solid waste collection points. In the city, there are three units responsible for waste transportation, utilizing 33 vehicles. The collection frequency for the main route is once per day. Hazardous and bulky waste should be collected twice per month.

Currently, the City People's Committee has directed the People's Committees of communes and wards to implement hourly collection of household waste to limit and eventually stop placing trash cans on roads, affecting the urban landscape.
