59th anniversary of Agent Orange/ dioxin catastrophe in Vietnam marked

Early August 10, provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin held a get-together to mark the 59th anniversary of Agent Orange/ Dioxin catastrophe in Vietnam (August 10, 1961-August 10, 2020) and the Day for Vietnamese Victims of Agent Orange / Dioxin 2020.

The event was attended by Nguyen Huynh Dinh, Vice-Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee, representatives of sectors, departments, mass organizations and the local victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.

It is known that provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin was established on December 28, 2006. So far, 6 out of 9 districts, towns and cities in the province have set up branches of the association with 856 members. Over the past time, the association’s activities received the attention of sectors, departments and mass organizations in the province and absorbed support resources from donors. Upon this, the association gave better care to the lives of victims of Agent Orange and Dioxin.

With the motto of “Solidarity, sentiment, responsibility for victims of Agent Orange and Dioxin”, provincial People’s Committee, Red Cross Society and donors at home and abroad donated gifts, money, healthcare coupons…to the local victims of Agent Orange and Dioxin with a total value of more than VND3.5billion.

On this occasion, Hang Huu foundation under Dai Nam Joint Stock Company supported VND350million for provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and its branches. The association also offered gifts to 20 victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin. Accordingly, each of them was given a gift together with VND500,000 in cash.
