A good deed after Tet

Right after Tet holiday, Ben Cat district’s youths and unionists have involved in a good deed of humanitarian blood donation. More than 150 youth volunteers donated 151 units of blood. The donated blood was taken to Cho Ray hospital’s blood transfusion centre.

In recent years, humanitarian blood donation has been launched everywhere. In 2010, the entire Ben Cat district lured 616 blood donors, reaching over 100% of its goal, 70% of whom are youngsters.

Le Nguyen Thanh Binh, the district youth union vice secretary, said ‘the blood donation movement show role of local youths and unionists”. Many youths and unionists are vanguard in this movement. Tran Van Tuan, Tru Van Tho commune youth union vice secretary has donated his blood for 15 times. He said “after blood donation, I feel very significant because I contribute to save patients who are in need of blood”.

In this blood donation movement, the local organizing board welcomed 150 volunteers with 151 units of blood.
