August 27, national provinces all out announced the results of high school graduation examination 2020. As a result, the provinces and cities of prominent education quality were named. As for Binh Duong, the quality achievements have been noted at the second place in the nation in terms of average mark points, at 6.914.

- Madam, firstly, can you share with us the outcome of high school graduation examination 2020 in BInh Duong province?
- For the high school graduation examination 2020, 11,416 candidates have registered for examination at Binh Duong Province – the examination council number 44, divided into 21 examination sites. Under demand of BInh Duong Provincial People’s Committee, Binh Duong Department of Education and Training coordinated with other departments and sectors to successfully organize the examination up to the regulations and against the protection and prevention of Covid-19. As a result, 99.48% of the students graduated in all 2 high school sectors. The ratio is 99.93% at public high schools and 97.18% at continual education institutions. Thirty out of thirty five schools eyed the graduation ratio at 100 percent.
By statistical data, Binh Duong province, after the high school graduation examination, eyed various subjects to be at the top average mark points across 62 provinces and cities of the nation, excluding Da Nang. The average mark points of History and Geography of Binh Duong candidates are ranked first, Literature, Civil Education, and English second, Math, Chemistry, and Biology third, and Physic eleventh. Thus, Binh Duong province is ranked second for average mark points of high school graduation examination 2020.

- Examination results in recent years show that Binh Duong province has made firm steps of high school education quality. Please inform us of measures that have been made to achieve such major outcome.
- From the beginning of the year, Binh Duong Department of Education and Training has invited experienced instructors from HCMC University of Pedagogy to train our teachers of grade 12 across high school, vocational institutions, and continual education schools in terms of multiple question tests, helping students to access the contents and examination formality of Ministry of Education and Training. Besides, the Department has required schools to follow illustrative tests of the Ministry, encouraging teachers to do research and compose the tests servicing the teaching and learning as well as reviews and testing to make students familiar with the formality, contents, and structure of high school graduation examination, making them confident at the examination.
On responding to high school graduation examination 2020, the Department has demanded schools to implement reviews with focus on grade 12 contents and the reviewed teaching contents. We have also noted schools to guide teachers and students in reference and get used to the announced test of the Ministry. Schools are to construct teaching and review by their actual competence and subject groups while intensifying guidance for students to practice self-learning and review without creating overload and health effects on students during the examination.
- The 2019-2020 school year is special as Covid-19 pandemic has affected the teaching and learning. Thus, what has been made to equip students with firm knowledge and confidence at the recent high school graduation examination, madam?
- In the face of complicated Covid-19 pandemic, Binh Duong Department of Education and Training in a bid to prevent the spreading pandemic has demanded schools to effectively response. The Department has reminded schools of close coordination with local medical agencies to prepare detail action plans of assuring health and precautions measures. Health monitoring has been well practiced among students, teachers, officers and staffs of the schools to discover any infection fast.
In the stage of ‘temporary school stop, learning continues’, the Department demanded schools’ boards of trusties to guide teachers how to teach in various forms that assure the needs of learning of students and the completion of the year’s learning and teaching plans. Accordingly, schools implemented online teaching and training on Zoom, Google meeting, Google class and so on. Regular self-testing and evaluation have been made on ‘Online multiple choice test system’ of Binh Duong Department of Education and Training. Groups on Zalo and Messenger have been established using the television programs and curriculum introduced by Department of Education and Training.
By the Department’s guidance, majority of units and schools have implemented seriously to their online learning and teaching by the demand of Ministry and Department of Education and Training. Majority of teachers and students have enthusiastically attended. All units have been eligible of online teaching and learning various forms by the actual competence. On school returning, students have been helped by teachers to systematize their knowledge; thereon, the new programs are followed. Teaching and reviewing have been together helping students to establish firm knowledge servicing the high school graduation examination 2020.
- To keep to quality in the new school year, what should be done next, madam?
- After the examination, Binh Duong Department of Education and Training will organize meetings with its divisions, high school principals, and continual and vocational education institutions to review lessons and actions that should be made to sustain education quality.
