Adequate supply of textbooks and learning tools with stabilized price ensured

Ensuring an adequate supply of textbooks and learning tools to serve the local pupils’demand for the 2014-2015 academic year is one of the main goals of enterprises in this field.

Good preparation for supply

Since early June, the market of textbooks and learning tools for the 2014-2015 academic year in Binh Duong has got very animated. There is a good preparation for the supply of textbooks and learning tools from enterprises participating the province’s price stabilization program, namely Binh Duong General Culture Joint Stock Co., Binh Duong Book & Educational Equipment Joint Stock Co. and the HCM City Books Distributors Joint Stock Co. (Fahasa).

Do Thi Nu, Deputy Head of Binh Duong Book & Educational Equipment Joint Stock Co.’s Sales Department said that the company has increased its number of outlets to 82, mostly in two new districts of North Tan Uyen and Bau Bang. The company has also expanded its existing outlet to around 600sq.m at the local clients’ demand for textbooks and learning tools. As planned, the company will store 1.6 million of copies of textbooks for the 2014-2015 academic year. The company has so far fulfilled preparatory work for the supply of textbooks and learning tooks for this academic year.

Provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) said that under this year’s price stabilization program, there will be 3 participating enterprises in this field with a total value of commodities reserved from April to November 2014 amounting to US$38.2bln, up 24% compared to the previous year. Particularly, Binh Duong General Culture Joint Stock Co. will stockpile 730,000 books and 100,000 notebooks valued at VND6.6bln; Binh Duong Book & Educational Equipment Joint Stock Co. with VND1.734 million of copies of textbooks, 1.428 million of copies of reference books and 110,000 notebooks valued at VND26.6bln; Fahasa with 553,000 copies of books and 75,000 notebooks valued at VND5bln. They will also organize mobile sales trips with stabilized price in the remote regions of the province, according to provincial DoIT.

It is expected that the province’s price stabilization program for textbooks and learning tools this year will be organized in 82 places, including 14 in TDM city, 10 in Thuan An town, 9 in Ben Cat town, 12 in Ben Cat town and Bau Bang district, 14 in Tan Uyen town and North Tan Uyen district, 11 in Phu Giao district and 12 in Dau Tieng. This program is of great significance for the society, contributing to curbing inflation, stabilizing economy and ensuring social welfare.

Bringing benefits to customers

Over the past four years, the province’s price stabilization program for textbooks, learning tools and other relevant items brought benefits to pupils, especially those in the remote region of the province. This program also contributed to helping the local people get access to hi-quality products at cheap price.

Provincial DoIT said that two participating enterprises, namely Binh Duong Book & Educational Equipment Joint Stock Co. and Binh Duong General Culture Joint Stock Co. well realized their set plans in the 2013-2014 academic year. They organized 82 price stabilization outlets with a total value of commodities amounting to VND30.79bln.

Of these, 72 were organized by Binh Duong Book & Educational Equipment Joint Stock Co. with total revenue of VND25.22bln (equivalent to more than 1.46 million of copies of textbooks, nearly 1.17 million of copies of reference books and 95,614 notebooks); 7 from Binh Duong General Culture Joint Stock Co. with total revenue of VND5.57bln (equivalent to 680,619 copies of textbooks, 64,427 reference books, 58,582 notebooks and 294 school bags).

In general, the province’s price stabilization program for textbooks and learning tools in the last academic year created positive effects among the local people.
