Bau Bang organizes 3rd voluntary blood donation campaign 2017 *Outstanding collectives, individuals in voluntary blood donation in Ben Cat honored

In response of the World Blood Donor Day (June 14), Bau Bang district’s Steering Board of Voluntary Blood Donation in collaboration with HCM city-based Cho Ray hospital’s Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center held the third voluntary blood donation campaign 2017.

The campaign absorbed 200 participants with 164 units of blood, equivalent to 57,400 milliliters of blood given. So far, the whole district has collected 672 units of blood or 67% of the year’s plan.

*Early June 14, Ben Cat town’s Steering Board of Voluntary Blood Donation held a conference to honor outstanding collectives and individuals in voluntary blood donation in 2017.

In 2016 and in the first half of 2017, the Steering Board well realized a task of receiving blood with quality ensured and quantity on increase. There were many outstanding units in voluntary blood donation, namely My Phuoc, Tan Dinh, Chanh Phu Hoa, Thoi Hoa wards and An Dien commune.

The town last year organized 5 voluntary blood campaigns with 1,126 participants. In the first half of the year, the town mobilized 694 people to give blood.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, provincial Red Cross Society and the town’s People’s Committee honored 12 collectives and 10 individuals with excellent achievements in voluntary blood donation mobilization; 181 outstanding families and individuals in voluntary blood donation in 2017.
