Many targets reaching and exceeding

In the context of general difficulties, the Standing Board of Thuan An city’s Party Committee focused on drastically and synchronously and effectively leading and directing the implementation of Resolution of the 12^th Party Committee of the city, achieving important results in all fields. Many resolutions achieved and exceeded the city’s annual plans. Specifically, there were 12 out of 26 targets exceeding the plan; 8 out of 26 targets achieving the plan... The city continued maintaining the industrial growth rate in line with the province's general orientation, with production value reaching more than VND 790.14 trillion, an average increase of 5.62% per year; total retail sales revenue of goods and services gaining more than VND 259.39 trillion, an average increase of 18.58% per year…

The image of industrial urban areas in Thuan An city is getting more and more thriving

Huynh Thi Thanh Phuong, Secretary of Thuan An city’s Party Committee assessed that in the past half tenure, the city's economy continued developing, with structure shifted in the right direction, in accordance with the process of urbanization. The city’s industrial development went into depth. The city’s trade - services saw increase in proportion and met development requirements. The city made great efforts in basic construction investment; focused on drastically directing key projects, especially compensation and site clearance projects, implementing key projects of the province and city. The mobilization of resources for development investment brought positive effects. In addition, the city paid more attention to investing in socio-economic infrastructure, making urban rejuvenation, building up a civilized urban and cultural lifestyle, making the local new-style urban and rural appearance get more thriving. The work of taking care of people's health and preventing epidemics was very effective. The quality of education and training continued being improved. The material and spiritual lives of the local people were improved.

The city also paid special importance to government building, administrative reform, the fight against corruption, wastfulness and thrift practice with administrative discipline enhanced. The movement of "All people defending national security" continued being effectively promoted, with national defense and security, social order and safety maintained. The national database projects on population and citizen identification were implementedactively. The city’s judicial reform continued being strengthened. Besides, the city paid attention to directing the organization of dialogues with the people, settlement of complaints and denunciations effectively.

Focusing on resources for urban development

One of the goals that the Party Committee of Thuan An city done well over the past time was to focus on urban development and construction. As a result, from 2020-2022, the city implemented about 101 projects with disbursed capital of more than VND4.19 trillion, or 72.86% of the province’s capital plan. Of the total figure, capital decentralized under the disbursement was more than VND 502.25 billion, or 99.91% of the plan. In the period of 2020-2023, the city has 19 projects implementing compensation and site clearance; organized to pay 12 out of 1,025 dossiers with a total amount of more than VND 1.04 trillion.

As of now, Thuan An city has completed the land use planning to 2030, the adjustment project of Thuan An urban master plan to 2040, implemented the overall adjustment of the local subdivision planning projects. The city’s Party Committee has been determined to mobilize all resources for investment and development, speeding up the investment progress in traffic infrastructure, urban rejuvenation, paying attention to anti-flood treatment, increasing the percentage of trees, building parks and gardens.

Nguyen Thanh Tam, Chairman of Thuan An city’s People's Committee said that in the coming time, the city will focus on reviewing and implementing the criteria of first, second-class cities, with focus on the implementation of standards that are still weak, especially investment in upgrading, expanding urban roads to ensure the standard of traffic land ratio and traffic density for roads with a vehicle width of 14 meters or more, striving to meet the criteria of first-class urban areas by 2025; implementing a project on upgrading An Son commune to the ward as planned.
