The provincial Party Committee’s summing-up report on rapid and sustainable industrial development program for the 2006-2010 showed that the quantity of industrial parks, businesses and production values reached a rapid growth.
Rapid development
According to the provincial industrial development for the 2006-2010 period, Binh Duong had 10 industrial parks under new establishment on an area of 4,306ha, a 1.4 fold increase in quantity and a 2.6 fold rise in area compared to the 2001-2005 period. The entire province has so far had 28 IPs covering on an area of over 9,000ha and 8 industrial compounds with the area of 593.5ha.

The local IPs have lured 6,399 local and foreign projects with the total capital of VND44,990bil and US$7.3bil. Till the end of 2010, the entire province had 10,181 local businesses and 2,006 foreign enterprises with the total capital of VND87,508bil and $13.676mil, respectively.
The local industrial production value in 2010 reached VND105,682.7bil, a two-fold increase compared to 2006. The industrial structure surged from 31.4% in 2006 to 34.2% in 2010.
However, there were some shortcomings of reaching goals in growth, production efficiency and competition ability and so on. The local auxiliary industry remained immature whilst environmental pollution remained complicated. In addition, manpower had yet to meet rapid and sustainable industrial development.
Solutions for sustainable development
In the 2011-2015 period, the local orientation of industrial development includes goals as follows: perfection of industrial parks’ technical infrastructure facility, investment attraction of hi-tech agricultural areas, priorities for auxiliary industrial development and so on.
Accordingly, the province has set out 12 solutions of upholding the regional advantages, focusing on service development, spurring auxiliary and hi-tech industrial development, encouraging businesses to set up funds for science and technology development and so on.
With the concrete measures, it is hoped that local industrial production will reach gigantic development steps in the coming time.
