Binh Duong makes great efforts to environmental protection in Dong Nai River basin 

On Dec. 22, the 8^th session of Committee for Environmental Protection in Dong Nai River basin took place at the Ho Chi Minh City. The session was chaired by Le Thanh Cung, chairman of the committee for environmental protection in Dong Nai River basin.

At the session, deputies heard about environmental protection situation of the committee after 7 years of establishment. Until now, as many as 11 People’s Committees of provinces and cities have ratified projects and issued many relevant documents and steered the work on environmental protection drastically.

In 2014, Binh Duong agrees timely on building concerted regulations of management of minerasl and water natural resources as well as environmental protection in areas adjoining administration borders of provinces under Dong Nai River basin. In addition, Binh Duong is one of the first localities building database on environment and waste source discharged into Dong Nai River basin.

At the session, members of the Committee agreed on changing the presidential position of the Committee for Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee in the period of 2015-2017.
