Update: 27-08-2010 | 00:00:00

After resistance war, Binh Duong Traffic and Transportation faced great difficulties in recovery from destruction but are helped by neighboring Cambodian authority. The sector, now, is a pride of Binh Duong province for its delightful legacy of 35 years.

After the war, the country enters economic reconstruction which bore great burdens on traffic and transportation sector; however, local sector has helped to build 14 new important routes along with 25 bridges, maintaining smooth transportation.

Nguyen Chi Thanh Street is open as a vital connecting street from Dau Tieng district to localities.

By 1979 when the South-West border war broke out, Binh Duong Traffic and Transportation held another duty in constructing roads and bridge system of over 100km from Loc Ninh to Krache townlet to serve political purposes.

On August 28th, 1945 the Ordinance No. 41 signed by President Ho Chi Minh set up Ministry of Civic Transport (now Ministry of Transport) under government of Democratic Republic of Vietnam. His teaching was that traffic and transportation are vital for work not being delayed.

In the decade of 1980s, local traffic authority has mobilized for capital sources from rubber and forestry industries to repair roads and bridges, including the 80-km long DT741 street connecting Phu Giao to Phuoc Long

In the face of downgrading traffic conditions and limited budget, provincial People’s Committee set out policies for the traffic authority to seek for capital competent partners during construction stage. The province authority, then, paid back in 1 or 2 years of time. The conduct is expanded to districts and townlets, prompting movement of rural road construction to develop. By then, traffic construction has already been accounted for over VND 3,877 billion. By the end of 2000, Binh Duong province has had a complete traffic system thoroughly from provincial authority to its grassroots during the first stage of industrialization and modernization.

Lucid leadership has brought about a rocketing development of the province. As for numbers, after the landmark year of 1990 when idea of multi-sector economy is expedited in policies, the sector saw growing amount of high quality vehicles for transportation, especially passenger transportation. Specialized transportation has also been developed by enterprises that have been licensed 111,438 times of all classes from 1995 to 2000. By the end of this August, about 4,314 routes have been established covering 7,178 km with 126 bridges. Ratio of asphalted streets is 95% at provincial level and 76% at districts’. Traffic and bridge system has helped to ensure synchronized transportation leading to investment attraction and industrialization and modernization.
