Binh Duong youth’s highlight

In 2015, Binh Duong youth implemented union works under the theme “Binh Duong youth proudly move forward under the Party’s flag”. Provincial Youth Union’s Standing Committee and Union branches of all level in the province performed more than 3,000 patriotic emulation projects. Particularly, Provincial Youth Union completed 10 typical projects with a total value of nearly VND2 billion; among these, the model of youth typical lodging-house was recognized as 1 of 10 national typical works by the Central Youth Union.

It can be said that, the model of youth typical lodging-house has contributed to building urban civilized lifestyle, ensuring social security, creating healthy environment in order for young workers to keep their mind on work. Currently, the province has recognized 6 typical youth lodging-houses with more than 500 young residents, meeting price criteria, civilization standards, ensuring environmental sanitation, food hygiene and safety, security and order, etc.Vo Thi Thu Loan, owner of 3/9A lodging-house in Nhi Dong 2 quarter, Di An town, said her lodging-house included 114 rooms with an area from 12-15m2 and price of VND800,000 – VND 1 million/room, electric price of VND2,500/kW, water price of VND 8,000/m3.

Introducing Youth typical lodging-house at Di An ward of Di An town

In recent years, Di An ward Youth Union has carried out surveys and coordinated with lodging-house’s owners to set up sports playgrounds for young workers. Thanks to capital sources from socialization and benefactors, union branches and all young workers have built up, installed cultural-sports institutions, including 2 volleyball courts, 1 mini-football field, 2 clusters of horizontal and parallel bars, 2 bookshelves with over 400 book titles, 2 family medicine cabinets, bookshelves of legal documents etc., at 2 typical lodging houses.

Besides taking care of young worker’s life, Provincial Youth Union has also implemented the project of Gratitude to Vietnam heroic mothers by monthly collaboration with My Phuoc Hospital for check-up and giving gifts to 36 Vietnamese heroic mothers in the province. The program set up medical records, periodically checked, screened and monitored mothers’ diseases. My Phuoc General Hospital committed to supporting transport means for the mothers to do health check-up at the hospital. In parallel, provincial Youth Union, Youth Confederation and branches also visited and presented gifts to the mothers. Under the project, these Vietnamese heroic mothers have received lifelong support since 2014; and more than 400 mothers will be recognized as Vietnamese heroic mother.

At present, Youth Unions at all level undertake lifelong support for more than 50 mothers; save one day of “Eating - living - doing together” with the mothers every month and on big national holidays. In addition, gratitude works were also enhanced through many practical activities, like: cooperation with Liaison Committee of Exiled Revolutionary Soldiers to organize a trip to Con Dao; Binh Duong provincial Returning to the root’s festive day with activities of giving health check-up, medication, gifts to policy families, revolutionary contributors; visits and sanitization at martyr’s gravestones, cemetery…

In general, Binh Duong Provincial Youth Union’s activities have met youth’s needs, and local political tasks, consolidated good public opinions. This was also a great motivation to enhance union works, youth movements in the province in order to become a trustworthy organization of young persons.
