On the afternoon of November 13, comrade Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation together with provincial delegation had a working session with Ben Cat town’s Party Standing Committee about the results of realizing tasks in the 10 months of 2023 and preparation for conditions to propose the establishment of Ben Cat city. The event was also attended by comrade Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; comrade Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee and leaders of a number of enterprises in the province.

Many targets reaching and surpassing plan

For the results of implementing tasks in the 10 months of 2023, Bui Minh Thanh, Secretary of Ben Cat town’s Party Committee said that the town’s socio-economic situation continued developing. Particularly, the town’s total production value reached more than VND 285.01 trillion, an increase of 21.1% over the same period. The town’s total State budget revenue was more than VND 3.88 trillion, reaching 90% of the plan. The local budget revenue reached 109% of the year’s plan while the local budget expenditure was 71% of the year’s plan. The town’s total disbursement value of public investment capital obtained 70.8% of the year’s plan, striving to reach 100% of the year’s plan by the end of 2023...

The Party, government and people of Ben Cat town are focusing on building a modern and civilized city

As of now, Ben Cat town has been one of three localities in the province with the highest disbursement rate of public investment capital. The town is focusing on compensation and site clearance for upgrading and expanding DT748 street at the section from Phu Thu intersection to the North My Phuoc belt; preparing compensation for the belt road 4 project and the project to upgrade and expand DH606 street to the North My Phuoc belt road... The town’s administrative reform and digital transformation have reached many positive changes. The town has signed cooperation on digital transformation with the Vietnam Institute of Digital Economy.

Together with the task of socio-economic development, Ben Cat town focused on Party building and political system building. The entire Party Committee has admitted 167 Party members, reaching 109% of the plan; established 5 Party organizations in non-State enterprises or 250% of the plan. The local political security, social order and safety have been maintained...

Preparing conditions for city establishment

Reporting on the progress of implementing the project to establish An Dien ward and An Tay ward in Ben Cat town and establish Ben Cat city in Binh Duong province, Mr. Thanh said that the town’s People's Council has issued a resolution approving the policy of establishing An Dien ward and An Tay ward in Ben Cat town and establishing Ben Cat city in Binh Duong province. On that basis, the town’s People's Committee reported and submitted projects on establishing An Dien ward, An Tay ward in Ben Cat town and Ben Cat city in Binh Duong province to provincial People's Committee for approval.

Overview of the working session

To ensure conditions for socio-economic development, especially the establishment of Ben Cat city in the coming time, leaders of the town proposed many related contents to the province. Particularly, the town proposed the province to consider and allocate enough fund to carry out spending tasks for 2023; supplement fund to ensure urgent and important spending tasks while allocating 50% of the investment cost about VND 1.34 trillion to upgrade and concretize 668 red gravel roads in the area. The town will be proactive to implement the remaining 50% of investment cost. The town also proposed the province to invest or allocate resources to renovate, dredge, and reinforce the local streams to ensure drainage capacity and solve a problem of the local flooding...

Regarding investment in the local works and projects, leaders of the town recommended functional agencies to soon implement projects on An Tay industrial resettlement area, drainage system along DT744 road, belt road 4 , An Tay port and arrange enough capital to make clearance site for DT748 road; proposed the province to direct relevant departments and sectors to quickly remove obstacles related to land to implement the Go Trade Center project in My Phuoc 3 residential area and the Toyota Binh Duong project in Thoi Hoa ward while recommending the province to pay attention to investing in streets connecting Ben Cat - Bau Bang to ensure regional connectivity, meeting the needs of circulation and transport of goods, contributing to the local socio-economic development..

At the meeting, leaders of relevant departments, sectors and enterprises discussed many issues on recommendations by Ben Cat town. The opinions focused on analyzing the causes of shortcomings as well as obstacles that the town has encountered in the process of implementing the local socio-economic development tasks. Many ideas highly appreciated the efforts by the town in implementing the local key tasks over the past time while hoping that the town will be more proactive in connecting and coordinating with departments, sectors, localities and enterprises to promptly remove obstacles to clear bottlenecks during the local development process.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Loi praised results done by Ben Cat town in all fields in the first 10 months of 2023. This is the foundation for the town to strive to exceed its targets and tasks in 2023 as well as the goals set by the Resolution of provincial Party Congress and the town’s Party Committee...

Regarding some tasks in the coming time, provincial Party Committee Secretary requested Ben Cat town to focus on exploiting resources from the town's planning, resources from land and enterprises to serve development. He also requested provincial People's Committee, sectors of the province and town to mobilize resources to make investment with focus while determining the total investment capital in the coming years. The town also needs to promote socialization in all fields, especially health, education, urban rejuvenation...

Provincial Party Committee Secretary believes that with a resilient revolutionary tradition plus promoting the local achievements, Ben Cat town will overcome difficulties, successfully implementing the set goals and tasks, being determined to become a modern, civilized, smart and worth-living city with sentimental attachment.
