The Women’s Union branch of Rach Cham hamlet in An Binh commune opens piggybanks to support the family of Bui Thi Loa, a member with difficult circumstance in the hamlet

The district’s Women’s Union has actively launched the emulation movement of “Women actively study, creatively work and build happy families” in association with studying, following Uncle Ho’s teachings and training Vietnamese women’s 4 virtues in the period of intensified industrialization and modernization with models implemented very effectively. The model of “Raising piggybanks” is a typical example for this. So far, the whole district has raised such 4,780 piggy banks from individuals and more than 150 ones from collectives with more than VND1billion saved annually, offering help to 712 needy members.

Under the model of “Each individual contributes a book for reading more”, the district’s Women’s Union has to date had a total of 56 branches setting up bookcases with more than 10,000 various books and magazines. The model of “10-grade kitchen corner” with practical efficiency has also absorbed more than 10,450 members…

Especially, implementing the model of “Giving strength to poor women”, officials and members of the district’s Women’s Union have till now subscribed and offered 120-125 gifts to needy people on the annual Tet (Lunar New Year) festival with a total value of hundreds of millions of dong; mobilized organizations and individuals to build and hand over 30 houses of compassion to poor women…Members of the local Women’s Union have also actively helped each other in terms of loans, nurslings and working days to develop home based business and rise up out of poverty.

Through studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings, women in the district have not only improved their own responsibility, but also actively supported each other in life. Many officials and members have also become advanced role-models and now are core individuals in movements of the local Women’s Union.
