Under this planning, Binh Duong urban space will consist of 3 areas of area 1 (Thuan An and Di An urban areas), area 2 (Hoa Phu, Phu Cuong, Phu Loi, Nam Ben Cat, Nam Tan Uyen, Tan Ba, Thai Hoa and Tan Binh new urban areas), area 3 (urban areas of Tan Thanh, Cong Xanh, Thuong Tan, Phuoc Vinh, Bau Bang, Dau Tieng, Long Hoa, Thanh Tuyen, Minh Hoa, Minh Thanh, etc).

Population of Binh Duong urban area will include about 2.5 million people in 2020, 3.5mil in 2030. Binh Duong urban area will become a hub of politics, economics, socio-culture, tech-science and national defense and security and will be a first class city including 6 districts and 4 precincts as well as will be an industrial, eco-tourism, bio-agricultural city.

At the ceremony, an adjusted planning on building Thu Dau Mot urban area till 2020 was also announced. Accordingly, Thu Dau Mot will be a center of politics, economics, culture, tech-science, high grade technology of Binh Duong province, will be a hub of high quality eco-tourism industry.

Thu Dau Mot urban space includes 3 areas of the Southern area including Phu Cuong, Phu Hoa, Phu Loi, Phu Tho, Chanh Nghia and Hiep Thanh wards; the Northeastern region of Hoa Phu, Phu Tan, Phu My wards and part of Tan Vinh Hiep commune; the Western area of Dinh Hoa, Hiep An wards, communes of Chanh My, Tuong Binh Hiep, Tan An and part of Tan Dinh commune.

Thu Dau Mot urban area’s population will be at about 515,520 people by 2020.
