Update: 07-09-2023 | 11:16:25

The need for labor recruitment in the last months of the year is increasing day by day. Many businesses in the footwear, leather, garment and wood processing industries are in need of large numbers of workers with special priority given to skilled workers. Thereby, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs is strengthening links with businesses, departments and branches in the province to connect and to create jobs to help workers have stable income.

Recruitment of large numbers

In the early days of September, workers did not have as much difficulty finding jobs as in previous months. Many businesses in the wood processing and garment industries in Tan Uyen city and Thuan An city are posting recruitment signs. Many businesses also post job vacancies on social networking sites such as Zalo, Facebook, corporate websites, associations and trade union groups of districts, towns and cities to help workers find jobs more easily. Binh Duong provincial Employment Service Center is also actively posting labor recruitment through various channels.

Among them, businesses in the garment sector are in need of labor in large quantities. For example, Leading Star Vietnam Garment Joint Stock Company in Dong An Industrial Park of Thuan An city, is recruiting 1,000 employees from now until the end of the year at their 3 factories. On being admitted to work, employees are fully taken care of by the enterprise with due diligence and life support of VND 200,000 a month. Meanwhile, Shyang Hung Cheng Co. Ltd. at An Thanh manufacturing industrial cluster in Thuan An city is recruiting nearly 300 workers including many positions of unskilled workers, kindergarten nannies, glue workers, color blender, boiler worker etc. with stable income. Esprinta VN Company in Song Than 2 Industrial Park of Di An city needs to recruit 500 garment workers. The company will train workers who do not have sewing skills. Thai Thang VN Shoe Materials Co. Ltd. of Tan Hiep ward in Tan Uyen city is recruiting nearly 100 workers, preferably 18 to 30 years old, with priority given to skilled ones.

The wood processing industry is also in need of labor in the last months of the year. In which, many furniture enterprises in Tan Uyen city are in need of labor such as Cuong Thinh Co. Ltd. of Tan Phuoc Khanh ward, which is recruiting many workers, Lam Duong One Member Limited Liability Company of Tan Phuoc Khanh ward, which specializes in the production of furniture, beds, cabinets for export and is recruiting 400 workers. Priority is given to skilled workers, who used to work in the wood processing industry. Feng Heng Vietnam Co. Ltd. of Nam Tan Uyen Industrial Park is recruiting dozens of workers in the wood processing industry.

Businesses choose the workers

According to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, businesses in the province need about 20,000 workers in the last 6 months of 2023. Besides the wood, garment, shoe and leather industries, the food processing, confectionery and service industries need a large number of workers to serve the production of Tet goods. Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said that in order to create jobs for workers in the last months of the year, the Department actively cooperates with other departments, branches, the Trade Unions and other sectors across districts, towns, cities and local authorities to review enterprises with excess labor, as well as enterprises in need of labor to promptly regulate. Besides the provincial Employment Service Center is working as a recruitment bridge, so trade unions at all levels need to actively post recruitment information on channels so that workers needing a job know more widely to find a job.

According to Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Deputy Director of the provincial Employment Service Center, the recruitment of labor by enterprises in late August and early September 2023, increased, however, compared to previous years is still low. The reason is that many businesses still have difficulties in production and lack of orders. Manufacturing enterprises are often divided into 3 groups: a group of machining experts, the group of production capacity without meeting the standards of technological lines, which has lower standard and lingering uncertainty in finding partners, and the third group of capable businesses, meeting the criteria customers need, especially in the fastidious market.

“Currently, the third group of businesses is the group that needs labor and recruits labor for production. Therefore, this year businesses choose workers in a different way from previous years when workers chose their businesses. Currently, most recruitment businesses still give priority to skilled workers  who have experienced the work they have done, rather than unskilled ones," said Nguyen Thanh Phuong.

In the context of businesses needing skilled workers, the provincial Employment Service Center has actively cooperated with universities and vocational colleges in the area to grasp the number of graduates in the last academic year, directly connecting jobs for new students in recent days. Along with that, the center promotes the connection of supply and demand, connecting businesses that are in need of recruitment, businesses with excess labor to help workers have more opportunities to return to the labor market.

From now until the end of the year, the provincial Employment Service Center will continue to strengthen the organization of face-to-face and online job sessions, and organize daily online interviews to support job seekers. The Center will also provide timely consulting support for businesses when there is a recruitment need; and continue to expand relationships with businesses and business associations to find jobs for employees.
