My Phuoc - Tan Van - Bau Bang road is completed and put into operation, creating intra-provincial and inter-regional connections, stimulating socio-economic development

 Implement many projects

Up to now, Binh Duong province's transportation infrastructure has been invested in and developed strongly, with national highways, provincial roads, and district roads connecting directly to industrial parks, ensuring convenience in travel and trade. Currently, Binh Duong is focusing on a synchronous and modern infrastructure system to expand development space and harmonize urban and rural areas.

Recently, the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board - the investor of the Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh expressway project, held a public meeting to announce the investment policy. Vo Ngoc Sang, Deputy Director of the Management Board, said that the Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh Expressway Construction Project is the North-South Expressway axis of Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc (radial axis cutting through the Ring Road 4 Ho Chi Minh City, Ring Road 3 Ho Chi Minh City, leading to Ring Road 2 Ho Chi Minh City), connecting Gia Nghia Expressway (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc). This expressway has a very important meaning and role in the socio-economic development while strengthening national defense and security of the Central Highlands and Southeast regions, and needs to receive investment soon to create development motivation.

Previously, the Management Board also held a public meeting to announce investment policies for the Ring Road 4 project in Ho Chi Minh City. Sang said that the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 project has an important meaning in the development process of localities in the province and provinces and cities in the region, shortening traffic time, promoting trade and transportation activities, connecting provinces and cities in the southern key economic region.

In 2023, Binh Duong broke ground to build the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project passing through the province. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City is an important national project. Building a project to reduce traffic overload at the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City, increase satellite urban connectivity, effectively promote the advantages of provinces, and develop inter-regional transport services, expand urban development, minimize environmental pollution, reduce travel time and costs, and transport goods, contributing to improving the competitiveness of the whole region.

The formation of key traffic infrastructure projects such as National Highway 13, Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City, Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, My Phuoc - Tan Van - Bau Bang and Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang roads, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh expressway... will continue to create motivation to help Binh Duong accelerate development in a sustainable way.

Regional connectivity

According to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Binh Duong focuses on investing, upgrading and developing a synchronous and modern provincial transportation system, quickly resolving congestion on arterial transportation routes, comprehensive, sustainable and interdisciplinary transport infrastructure planning, combined with urban development. Meanwhile, the province focuses on key investment resources in important, breakthrough, and lifeline transportation infrastructure projects of the province and the region, connection to economic zones, industrial parks, and tourism zones, logistics centers, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable development towards industrialization, urbanization, and smart city.

In addition, Binh Duong actively coordinates with provinces and cities in the southern key economic region to accelerate investment, connect belt roads, expressways according to regional planning to reduce the load on provincial arterial traffic. Associate Professor, Dr. Do Phu Tran Tinh, Institute of Policy Development, National University, Ho Chi Minh City, said that Binh Duong needs to develop traffic connections, especially connecting with large port clusters in the region. Binh Duong is a locality with good infrastructure in the Southeast region, with many arterial roads that play an important role in the socio-economic development of the province as well as neighboring zones in the region. But Binh Duong needs to continue investing in transport infrastructure to meet development needs in the new period.

Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly delegation, said: “To develop to a new level, in the coming time, Binh Duong will continue to prioritize investment, strives to basically complete expressways in the province by 2025, and synchronously develop the intra-provincial transportation system and regional connectivity by 2030, diverse types of road, waterway and railway transport; The focus is on Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City, Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh Expressway, Bau Bang - Cai Mep railway and metro line from Suoi Tien to the Binh Duong new city center; invests in improving urban quality, ensuring modernity, smartness, and connection with large cities in the region and the region."

Associate Professor, Dr. Do Phu Tran Tinh, Institute of Policy Development, National University, Ho Chi Minh City: The volume of exported goods in industrial parks of Binh Duong is very large, however the connection of main road axes with major ports in the region still have many limitations. Therefore, the synchronous investment in road transport infrastructure combined with large port clusters as well as research on investment in the Binh Duong - Bien Hoa - Vung Tau freight railway connecting with Cai seaport Mep - Thi Vai is extremely necessary, not only for Binh Duong but for the whole region.
