Town party committee and people aim to turn Thu Dau Mot

into a civilized and modern urban area.

The 10th congress Thu Dau Mot town party committee, 2010-2015 term, just ratified a resolution with many important goals on socio-economic development, national defense. Especially, the entire Party committee members agreed on building town into the first class urban area, creating new image for a civilized and modern urban area.

The set issues

The congress delegates ratified targets of keeping the cause of industrialization and modernization with very high requirements. The town secretary Tran Van Loi, stated ‘It is important to set out right instructions and tasks but more importantly effective implementation will take resolutions to life. To obtain this target, the first responsibility is of leaders and this task depends on the entire Party and people’.

In the past term, the town party committee also admitted some shortcomings such as incompletion of infrastructure building, poor urban management and stagnancy of urban building as well as environmental pollution.

Bounding for targets       

 The congress’ biggest goal is to mobilize all sources to invest and develop Thu Dau Mot urban area and upgrade the existing urban area, contributing to take shape Binh Duong new city. To excel this target, the Party building is focused on with 80% of grassroot party committees winning the title of clean and strong party committee and 80% of party members excelling their tasks.

In terms of economic target, it strives to win 17.5-18.5% of annual average economic growth, VND80mil in GDP per capita per year by late 2015, a 19-20% rise of service value, an over 20% increase of import-export turnover, a 12% rise per year of budget collection as well as a 19-20% average surge of investment capital of social development.

Meanwhile, the targets of urban development building include at least 22% of land for traffic system, 99.9% of households enjoying the national electricity grid with the stipulated price, 100% of town routes and 60% of ward routes having lights, over 99.5% of households using clean water, over 50% of waste water under treatment and over 95% of solid waste in urban area under collection and treatment.

The goals of society consist of 100% of localities winning high school education universalization, over 70% of workforce being trained, 30,000 laborers placing jobs and so on.
