Emulation in good production and business

Although working a few years ago, provincial Billionaire Farmers ‘Association branch has left many marks with proud results. The birth of the branch has met the needs of many good farmers in production and business in the province. The branch is a place for members to have a common playground, exchanging and sharing experience in production while being the excitement of good farmers in production and business with the desire of accompanying together to reach out to domestic and foreign markets.

The 10th provincial Farmers' Association Congress has the theme of "Building up a strong Farmers' Association, promoting the central role of farmers in modern agricultural development and new-style rural construction"

Since its inception of April 2021, the branch has organized more than 8 meetings. These meetings were organized to integrate with learning from experience of effective models in other localities, namely Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Hung Yen, Hanoi, and Ninh Binh.

The highlight of the branch is that every year, its members register to participate in the emulation movement of “good farmers in production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably” at association branches. According to the results of the annual review, all members have won the title of “good farmer” at provincial level and above... Besides, many members have also boldly strengthened linkages to expand production outside the province...

Over the past time, the emulation movement of “good farmers in production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably” is also one of the key tasks effectively implemented by Dau Tieng district’s Farmers' Associations at all levels. The movement is really a driving force for the local socio-economic development, strongly promoting homebased business, cooperative economic and farm economic models. Through the movement, many outstanding models, including the general farm of Tong Van Huong in Minh Hoa commune; the swallow raising model of Vu Thi Tuat in Minh Tan commune; the mangosteen growing model of Nguyen Van Ty in Thanh Tuyen commune and the mushroom growing model of Nguyen Thi Minh Tan in Long Hoa commune have appeared... The above models give farmers the annual profit of  between VND 2 billion and VND4 billion …

From this movement, the district’s Farmers' Association has launched mutual support among its members by such forms as giving interest-free loans, supporting nurslings and breeding animals, etc. As a result, in the last tenure, the association mobilized more than VND 31 billion to help 3,103 households develop their homebased business. Through the program, the association coordinated with relevant units to help 387 households get out of poverty…

Renewing thinking and vision

The involvement of the whole political system is to uphold the strength of agricultural production. Over the past time, Phu Giao district’s Party Committee paid attention to improving the quality of activities of the local Farmers’ Associations at all levels. In leadership, the district’s Party Committee also paid attention to consolidating the staff of Farmers ‘Association cadres, especially those at grassroots level. The district’s Party Committee always considers grassroots association officials to be those who are close to members, directly mobilizing members and farmers to implement the Party’s guidelines, the State's policies, laws and association movements and tasks; acting as a bridge between the association, members and farmers; between the association, the Party committee and local government.

Through the practice of leadership in performing the task of strengthening cadres of grassroots Farmers’Associations, Phu Giao district’s Party Committee has drawn some experience such as regularly paying attention to well implementing the task of training and creating a source of cadres of Farmers ‘Associations at all levels to ensure quantity and quality; selecting qualified full-time cadres; opportunely realizing the task of consolidating association cadres so as not to affect the performance of the association's work and farmers’ movements...

Possibly speaking, agriculture, farmers and rural areas are three elements with close coherence. Over the past time, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DoARD) also organized many coordination activities, making positive contributions to the development of the local agriculture, farmers and rural areas. This is clearly shown in the transition from agricultural production to agricultural economy and the corresponding change of support policies. The process of crop restructuring and agricultural restructuring was effectively implemented by the department, promoting the application of modern technology to production, creating conditions for large-scale production of products with high value.

Particularly, provincial DoARD also implemented many policies to support and promote  the development of agricultural production. Some outstanding policies to support production development included the transfer of sci-tech advancements, varieties, advanced technical processes; farm economic development; development on agricultural production with high technology…

Under the Resolution 19-NQ/TW on Agriculture, Rural Development and Rural Areas by 2030, with a vision to 2045, provincial DoARD has also aimed at building up ecological agriculture, modern agriculture, and civilized farmers.
