Di An town unites to build a modern urban area

Di An town administration holds a parade on the 40^th anniversary of the Southern liberation and national unification day

Over the past years, Di An town has gained a high pace of growth and rapid speed of urbanization. Promoting unity and the national great unity bloc, Di An town has become a modern urban area and hub of industry, trade and service of the Southern key economic zone. The town party and people have strived to be recognized as the 3^rd urban area in the end of 2015.

Image changing

After 40 years of construction and development, Di An town with advantaged position and transparent investment environment, friendly, laborious and creative people attracts thousands of local and foreign enterprises, placing jobs for hundreds of thousands of laborers, spurring local development of socio-economy.

The locality reaches an increase of 17% in local industrial production value, over 30% rise in trade and service, VND2,200bn in budget collection and more.

In 2014 and the first quarter of this year alone, the town and wards put into use 54 works with the total value of nearly VND400bn.

Besides, the locality has many large-scaled basic construction works, invested by the Central, provincial administration and HCMC, under construction. These works include new Dong Nai Bridge, My Phuoc-Tan Van road, Ha Noi highway, Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro road and so on, contributing to change urban image of Di An town.

Le Van Hoang, vice secretary of the town party committee cum chairman of Di An town People’s Committee, said “Through stages, Di An town renovates and develops constantly. Local economy is developed on industrialization and modernization overall. Local industry gains breakthroughs and accounts for about 63% while local trade and service amounts 37% and agriculture 0.04%. In addition, industrial parks and compounds are established and developed. New urban areas, urban residential areas and urban infrastructure facility are strengthened to change the town image.

Along with economic development, political system from the town to grassroot levels is reinforced while system of technical and traffic infrastructure has been invested synchronously, meeting local requirement of socio-economy and more.

Civilized urban areas

With the done results of infrastructure facility, Di An is recognized as the 4^th class urban areas in 2010. One year later, the Government decided to set up the town administration unit in early 2011. After the recognition, Di An town has showed a strong change of urban development. Local investment level of society has been increased from VND300bn to VND400bn annually. Local urban infrastructure has been invested modernly, 100% of local roads have been asphalted. Local technical and economic infrastructure has been gradually met local requirement of growth. Works of education, healthcare and culture-sport have been invested sharply.

According to Le Van Hoang, the town remains some shortcomings but its achievements are very huge after nearly 16 years of establishment. This is the success of effort, duty, creation, motivation of all party members, cadres, public servants and people as well as unity of people and enterprises, instruction of local administration and timely cooperation of departments, sectors and mass bodies.

Nguyen Van Loc, secretary of Di An town stressed that in the coming time the town party committee would continue to renovate overall and strongly. Initially, the locality will focus on successfully holding grassroot level party congress, preparing and holding the 11^th town party congress for the 2015-2020 term.

Looking back the past stages, Di An town determines to become a district of the central-run Binh Duong city in the near future.
