Effective models for collective economy in new rural communes needed

Update: 21-05-2013 | 00:00:00

Thanks to have a right direction, Phuoc Sang agricultural cooperative, specialized in making rubber seedlings, is upholding its efficiency.

Phu Giao is well-known as a locality with the development of agricultural production. Previously, there were many cooperatives regarding agricultural production in the district. But, only after a short time, they were dissolved in turn, due to low economic efficiency. Some have still operated because of having effective models. Also thanks to have a right direction, Phuoc Sang agricultural cooperative, specialized in producing rubber seedlings, is upholding its efficiency.

In fact, communes under new rural construction need to deliberate when selecting production models that must bring high economic efficiency and be in line with the market demand to set up cooperatives. The task of mobilizing farmers to get involved in cooperatives for their production and business activities is also uneasy.

To Khong Van Cuong, Chairman of Tan Long communal People’s Committee in Phu Giao district, the whole commune is home to more than 1,800 hectares of small rubber plantations. If all owners of the small rubber plantations link to set up a cooperative, their business and production activities will be improved. But, they do not have the demand for this establishment.

Mr.Cuong added: “We are making procedures to set up a cooperative on animal husbandry. Currently, there are 10 breeding households contributing VND600mln to the establishment of the cooperation. It is expected Tan Long commune’s animal husbandry cooperative will be put into operation by the end of 2013”.

Building up collective economic models in communes under new rural construction not only aims at fulfilling criteria on new rural construction, but also helps locals improve their income. Hence, many communes under new rural construction in the province, namely Tan Hiep, An Lap…, are making efforts to seek effective models for the mobilization of the establishment of cooperatives.

It is thought that communes under new rural construction need to select effective models when setting up cooperatives to be able to achieve good results in production and business. The local concerned agencies also need to provide these communes with development orientations, preferential loans…so that they can get high results in this field.
