Part 3: Industry, service and urban complex – all for country and people’s benefits

In order to cater for overall and sustainable development, Binh Duong builds Industry, service and urban complex. This project is for country and people’s benefits, so most of local residents respond it enthusiastically. After more than 10 years of launching, the complex starts upholding its efficiency and impacts positively on local socio-economic development.

For industrialization

Re-established in 1997, Binh Duong has focused on developing industrial parks on the goal of sustainable growth. Until now, the province now has 29 industrial parks well-invested in infrastructure facilities, becoming a reliable address for local and foreign investors. Thanks to well-quipped infrastructure facilities, Binh Duong has thus far attracted 2,375 foreign projects, capitalized at US$20.4bil and nearly 17,500 local projects with the total investment capital of about VND132,000bil.

Enterprises have contributed greatly to producing high industrial production value, increasing the State budget, offering jobs for hundreds of thousands of laborers inside and outside of the province. In 2014 alone, most of local economic goals reached high results including VND187,531bil in industrial production value, a 15.6% increase; US$17.74bil in export turnover, a 15.7% increase; US$1.65bil in foreign investment attraction; VND103,493bil in goods retail and service revenue, a 24.9% rise; VND32,000bil in budget collection and so on.

Development of economy improves local residents’ life, winning 61.2mil per capita per year while social welfare, healthcare and education are paid more attention by local authority.

Rapid growth of industry and service in the province creates a synchronous development of urban infrastructure. Furthermore, with nearly 20,000 local and foreign enterprises make up a huge workforce of hundreds of thousands of experts, engineers, managers and laborers.

In order to overall and sustainable develop and become a central city by 2020 and be an important bridge for the subsequent development stages, Binh Duong is in need of a calibre project. With such vision, Binh Duong builds the complex with a modern and synchronous infrastructure facility, connecting with the Southern key economic zone to develop Binh Duong sustainably.

Occupying on an area of 4,196 ha, the complex is the biggest project in the country so far and receives great attention from central ministries, agencies, local leaders. Especially, the complex’s investor – Becamex IDC – wins great support from local people. As such, after more than 10 years, the complex reaches many important results.

Until now, aside from large scaled projects, medium and small projects of investors invest billions of US dollars in the complex.

Binh Duong new city’s breakthrough

Located in the complex, Binh Duong New City is an important breakthrough. With the motto of mobilizing capital from economic sectors, after 4 years of construction, the new city makes up a drastic vitality. Works such as a 120ha ecological lake, Lucky Square Convention Center, international standard sport center, real estate projects of IJC Aroma, Gold Town, Sunflower Villas and more have been put into use.

Notably, the provincial administration center makes up a breakthrough in reforming public administration procedures. Meanwhile, foreign corporations highly appreciate the complex.

Nguyen Van Hung, general director of Becamex IDC stressed that the new city becomes a symbol of Binh Duong in the new era.

As a key work in the integration and development period, vitality of this new city is changing quickly, spurring industrial, service and urban development. The complex is a the hub of politics, economy and culture of Binh Duong province, accelerating Binh Duong’s strong development.
