Recent years, Binh Duong has constantly reached growth on economy, infrastructure facility and urban rejuvenation… However, environmental pollution remains existent. In the face of this situation, the local department of Environment and Natural Resources signs a join resolution on environmental protection with mass bodies.

Diversity of promulgation forms

The 5 years of signing the joint resolution, the department and mass bodies have held activities in response to events for environment. The movement of “All people involve in environmental protection” initiated by local Fatherland Front Committee has lured the participation of numerous people. By significant deeds, local residents voluntarily maintain hygiene at public works, protect and care for green trees and so on.

Meanwhile, the local Women Union has launched a “5-nought, 3-clean family mobilization”. Since 2006, the union has held 4 promulgation contests on environment protection. In response to the World Environment Day, local Farmers’ Union has held a model of “clean streets” at Di An and Phu Giao districts with the participation of over 390 farmers. Meanwhile, local Youth Union has initiated contests on environmental protection to seek out solutions for environment.

In addition, the local Fatherland Front Committee has equipped 70 legal bookcases for 7 self-control models, granted 450 garbage cans for pilot families whilst the department has distributed nearly 3,000 documents on environmental protection to mass bodies.

Many models of environment protection emerge

The self-control models on environment protection have brought initial results with the improved sanitation across localities. Localities of Thuan An district’s Binh Nham and Thuan Giao communes and Ben Cat district’s My Phuoc township as well as Phu Giao district have reached high results in environment protection.

At a 5-year summing up conference on implementing joint resolution on environment protection held on Dec. 30, 2010, the provincial vice chairman Tran Van Nam highly valued results of local environment protection. Building the self-control models improves efficiency of environment protection, helping complete local goals of environment protection for the new period.
