Environment-integrated business makes life greener

 A man of 24 years old, who in 1998 quit his well-paid job to take a risk, has built up his own famous brand name of wild swine husbandry in Chin Dinh farm.

The farm is 60km from Thu Dau Mot Town and is located at Ba Tu hamlet, Cay Truong commune, Ben Cat district. People in the locality know the farm owner well for his risk-taking after quitting urban areas and job to rural area. He made up his mind with only 5ha of land. “In the very first day of my farm, I faced myself with the forest that people may be bored to dead. But, I stayed to retrieved greener environment. People even called me crazy for such an act of wasting money but still I did not stand down,” said Mr. Cong. However, success did not come to him easy when he was lost to husbandry chicken, cow, goats, and sheep in consecutive 3 years since 2000. But he made sudden success for cross-breeding wild swine with lower fat. And thus, Chin Dinh wild swine brand name spreads to the market. Currently Mr. Cong has all 5 satellite delivery agents and 52 satellite farms across provinces of the Mekong Delta and Dong Nam Bo region. Averagely, his farm has 400 swines on diet and fat control husbandry. Those swines are taken from his satellite farms after 6-10 months of age to his 20-ha specialized or ‘fat control’ farm in Lam Dong where the swines are fed with grass and vegatables for 4-6 months before being transported to slaugher house in Binh Duong. As the matter of fact, quality of pork from his farms is totally different.

 

His farm is constructed by model close to the nature with green trees, ponds, shelters, and wide yards for swines to run around. He also grows fruit trees of all kinds to create shade and additional food to the swine.

 

Chin Dinh farm also saw a breakthrough by building up slaughtering house in the locality applying modern technology for capacity of 10 to 30 swines per day per average weight of 15kg to 60kg. After the process, which is first built in the province and in the nation as a whole, pork is packaged with registered brand name of Chin Dinh wild pork and instruction for cooking. The products are delivered to markets all over the nation.

 

And the success is confirmed by him – Mr. Tran Van Cong.
