Many large-scale economic models have loomed large across the province and farm economy plays an important role in changing from small-size agricultural models to ones specializing in goods production. So far, many farm economic models have brought hi-economic efficiency and created jobs for thousands of laborers, positively contributing to the local rural development.

For better results, farmers in the province have bravely invested in farm economic models with hi-tech application. The whole province has so far had a total of 542 farms on cultivation, 518 farms on animal husbandry and 8 general farmers with total area of more than 10,000 hectares. There are also 24 cooperatives with more than 600 members and more than 85bln in charter capital.
Pham Thi No, a farmer in Dau Tieng district’s Long Tan commune said that her family has made more investment in the model of breeding dairy cows under the scale of a hi-tech based farm for higher income. Over the past years, this animal husbandry model helped her family secure the average annual income of VND400mln.
Farm economic models are strongly developed in districts of Dau Tieng, Phu Giao, Bau Bang and North Tan Uyen. Estimatedly, profit is around VND300mln per farm per year. The value of products from farms is also very high, well meeting the demand for domestic consumption and processing for export.
According to Nguyen Van Dat, Vice-Chairman of Hieu Liem communal Farmers Association in North Tan Uyen district, the commune has developed a total of 600 hectares of fruit trees with hi-economic efficiency. The commune has also received support policies on nurslings, fertilizer as well as infrastructure investment from provincial People’s Committee, contributing to promoting the local economy.
Association in production and processing
The efficiency from farm economic models has step by step formed up concentrated agricultural production areas in the province. Along with the attention and help of the local authorities at all levels, farmers have bravely invested in terms of capital, techniques, helping affirm the value of products from their farms in the market.
Since 2012, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DoARD) has given more financial support to agricultural development projects; joined hands with relevant agencies to guide 2 poultry breeding facilities and 3 cultivation ones to practice development in accordance with VietGap standards with a total expense of more than VND94mln. There are now 16 farms on cultivation and animal husbandry granted VietGap certificates.
Nguyen Tan Binh, Director of provincial DoARD said that provincial DoARD this year has planed to coordinate with relevant sectors to implement a project on urban agricultural development in the northern region of the province, promote large-scale models on animal husbandry and cultivation under the industrial formula in the southern region of the province; simultaneously make models that have production in association with processing, in which farm economy is seen as a focus.
Provincial DoARD will also team up with relevant sectors to call for businesses and individuals to invest in hi-tech agricultural models and transfer them to farms…
