Farmers following Uncle Ho ’s teaching

Update: 15-07-2010 | 00:00:00

Outstanding farmers of Binh Duong province Patriotic emulation movements under Uncle Ho’s teaching have always attracted the attention of people from all walks of life in the province. Also thanks to them, provincial Farmers’Society has discovered many exemplary role-models in economic development.

Farmer who get rich from bare hands

He is Nguyen Quang Tren, member of Phuoc Hoa communal Farmers’ Society in Phu Giao district.

Nguyen Quang Tren said that after returning from military service with bare hands in 1984, he made efforts to overcome difficulties and rise up for wealth. Currently, he is the owner of a 12-ha rubber garden, a rice-husking factory and a carpentry establishment, placing stable jobs for 14 laborers with the average income of VND2.4mln per capita per month.

Along with economic development, Nguyen Van Tren actively gets involved in social and charity activities. Particularly, he over time offered more help to needy members of the local Farmers’ Society; presented gifts to poor households on Tet and great holidays; gave aid to Agent Orange victims…

He also owns an herb garden. Over the past time, he provided free medicine for more than 100 poor members of the local Farmers’ Society. He also mobilized to set up a volunteer blood donation squad to offer timely help to poor patients in need of emergency blood.

Farmer who is full of compassion

To become a good farmer in production and business, since 1995, Nguyen Binh Dung in Ben Cat district’s Long Nguyen commune has constantly learnt and wided his knowledge to be able to effectively develop the pig-breeding model.

His family has so far developed a farm with 50 sows and 300 pigs for meat. On average, his family could secure the annual average income of more than VND100mln from the pig farm.

Noticeably, Nguyen Binh Dung and his family actively get involved in social and charity activities. His family presents 50 gifts to poor patients at My Phuoc General Hospital every month and contributes around VND46mln to the “House of Compassion” program of Binh Duong Television and Radio Station every year.

According to him, offering help to the poor is the common responsibility of the society. He, therefore, will further mobilize many people to get involved in social and charity activities.
