In the past, An’s family had to move constantly along Thi Tinh river to earn a living by raising ducks. The work made him and his wife be absent from home.

In 1997, with determination of settling down stably, he decided to purchase a land lot in Thoi Hoa commune for a new start-up.

A “duck-Nymphaea lotus-fish” farm

With only 8,000sqm of land, the couple turns an exhausted land into 2 duck and fish ponds, bringing high efficiency.

In 2001, An started planting Nymphaea lotus to use as food for his family’s meals but till 2006 Nymphaea lotus has become a popular foodstuff in family meals and so it has become a high valued plant and brought a high income for his family. His family reaps VND400-500,000 per day thanks to selling Nymphaea lotus.

In 2005, An started breeding Tilapia, tra fish and so on and enjoyed a big profit. Thenceforth, he has spent a large amount of capital to invest in breeding fishes. At present, he has enjoyed about VND200mil per year on breeding fishes, duck and planting Nymphaea lotus.       

An said that his family has spurred his farm into a entertainment fishing club. Accordingly, he will mobilize neighbors to upgrade a road leading to the hamlet 6 and build some items to serve for the entertainment model.
