The movement “People helping each other in economic development” is one of the campaign’s movements closely linking with the legitimate interest and right of all walks of life. Hence, the movement over time received much support from the local organizations and individuals. Through it, many well-off households gave more support on loan, plant and animal species, animal feed, technical ways…to poor ones. The local mass organizations also helped over 54,000 poor households get over VND128bln in loan to develop homebased business.
Along with activities helping each other in economic development, the local people also made contributions to building infrastructure facilities. Over the past 15 years, the whole district worked out 505 works and 58 items with a total investment capital of VND106,731bln and thousands of working days.
Di An district has also paid attention to the movement of building up the local solidarity, helping privileged, needy families…. Over the past 15 years, the local people subscribed more than VND1.3bln to the local Gratitude Fund; visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries and those who made contributions to the national revolution, maintained Vietnamese heroic mothers on Tet and great holidays with a total expense of more than VND1.1bln; built 126 gratitude houses, presented 10 saving books…with a total expense of over VND2.3bln.
Nearly VND1.3bln, US$150 and thousands of tons of essential goods from Di An district’s mass organizations and individuals were donated to natural calamity hit-people, helping them soon stabilize their lives. The district’s Red Cross Society also mobilized VND48mln for people in natural calamity-hit countries.
According to Ngo Ngoc Diep, chairwoman of Di An district’s Red Cross Society, the most effectiveness of the campaign “The entire people consolidate to build cultured lifestyle in residential areas” over the past time was to uphold the strength of the entire people and political system to participate in solving urgent issues in residential areas…”.
