Di An district administration center under completion.
Compared to 5 years ago, Di An has so far had many changes on all areas. Earlier, the district is an agricultural locality with poor infrastructure facilities and low living standard. The locality has thus far become a rapid developing district, luring many local and foreign projects, reaching improved infrastructure facilities and living standard.
Over the past 5 years, the local industrial production value won an average rise of 20% per year, reaching the proposed resolutions. It is estimated that local industrial value will reap VND35,776bil, up VND20,917bil from 2005 by the end of this year.
The entire district has had 12,642 businesses involving in trade-service field, up 6,565 ones from early the term. Besides, the locality has been recognized as a district leading in education sector in the province. Many basic construction and urban rejuvenation works as well as routes have been well-invested.
Since 2005, the 9th district party committee’s resolution has focused on developing trade-service, especially service forms with high value of finance, banking and so on. So, could you tell about the service’s development in details?
As I mentioned, till the end of this term, on average every year will surge more than 1,000 businesses, showing rapid development of the field. Service models with high value such as trade center, supermarket, banking, telecom and so on have been gradually formed up and developed strongly.
The district has had 3 trade centers, 3 supermarkets, 25 banks and branches, 3 credit organizations, 17 markets under effective operation. Besides, services of boarding house, transport and so on have also surged rapidly. Total retail and service turnover are estimated at VND9,367bil in this year, a 36.15% rise per year…
Aside from the achievements, what shortcomings has the district faced over years, sir?
The locality remains shortcomings of environmental pollution, stagnancy of technological innovation, unskilled human resources, unbalance of industrialization and modernization.
In terms of land, land area used for wrong purposes has still happened, stagnancy of key projects such as the HCMC National University, Tan Dong Hiep B IP and resettlement area have badly impacted on local residents’ life. Besides, crimes and social evils have still complicated.
In the coming time, what will the district do to minimize the mentioned problems, sir?
To improve the above problems, the district will focus on solving each problem including removal of polluted workshops and rapid implementation of compensation and site clearance.
Besides, the district will steer its relevant units to boost inspections to curb legal violations, solve residents’ concerns to reach a hi-unity, creating a general strength fro the sake of local socio-economic development.
Thanks a lot!
