Get-together of Liaison Committee of Southeastern Liberation Women’s Union Agency

Morning Apr 22, at Kien An Forest historical relic in An Lap ward, Dau Tieng district, Liaison Committee of Southeastern Liberation Women’s Union Agency organized a the 17th traditional get-together. Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, former President of Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Vice President of Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Vietnamese heroic mother Nguyen Thi Thao; Mr. Huynh Van Nhi, Chairman of provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; members of Southeastern Liberation Women’s Union Agency and representatives of Southeastern Women's Union.

At the meeting, participants reviewed the tradition of Southeastern Women’s Union in the struggle for national liberation. During the anti-US war, the leading body of Southeast women was established to mobilize women to participate in the fight for national liberation. Southeast women overcame hardships, clung to the homeland, took care of children, parents, provided for revolutionary cadres, and was a solid support of Vietnam's revolution. These women’s dedication and noble sacrifices will always be the pride of Vietnamese people and future generations of women.

Promoting traditions, Southeast WU branches have engaged in movements of “Women actively learn, work, and build up happy families" tied to promoting studying and following the moral example of the Ho Chi Minh; the campaign of happy family of "5 nos, 3 cleans" and strive to cultivate virtues: “Confidence – Self-respect – Faithful – Being responsible” of women in the movement named “All people unite to build a cultural life".

 Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, acknowledged Southeastern women in the national liberation movement. In the renovation period, many good female examples have emerged in all aspects, have contributed to the local and national construction and development.
