Early November 7, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) held an online grand ceremony to commemorate its 40th founding anniversary (November 7, 1981 - November 7, 2021) in Hanoi, which was connected to other cities and provinces across the country.

The event was attended by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and representatives of central departments and agencies. In Binh Duong, there were Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.
With the tradition of solidarity, harmony, and incarnation accompanying the nation during its 2,000 years of history, over the past 40 years, the VBS continuously grown in terms of organization system, policy of protecting the nation and the people, accompanying the nation, developing the Buddhist education system, training talented monks, promoting the truth, propagating the Dharma and Precepts of Buddhism and guiding Buddhist followers to uphold the Buddhist cultural identity in the preservation of Vietnamese cultural heritages.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc spoke highly achievements done by the VBS over the past 40 years. He also affirmed the VBS’s spirit of protecting the nation, the people and accompanying the nation in all historical circumstances. During its development, the VBS has always been a reliable member of the great national unity bloc, making many positive contributions to the country's socio-economic development.
*Earlier, also on the morning of November 7, provincial Fatherland Front Committee and Buddhist Sangha held a ceremony to celebrate the 40th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
On behalf of provincial leaders, Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee acknowledged and paid gratitude to provincial Buddhist Sangha and its branches together with Buddhist monks, nuns and followers for their contibutions to the cause of national construction-defence and the local socio-economic development. He hoped that they will continue accompanying the nation in the coming time.
At the ceremony, provincial leaders presented a flower basket as congratulation to the Executive Board of provincial Buddhist Sangha and gifts from the Government’s Committee for Religious Affairs to the local Buddhist dignitaries. On this occasion, provincial People's Committee also awarded the certificates of merit to 3 collectives and 4 individuals for their achievements in Buddhist and social charity work.
