Humanity inside every melon

In order to help people in central part of Vietnam to overcome difficulties caused by floods in the last March, more than 6 tons of melons were transported into Binh Duong province. With the motto “Every melon is a heart”, Binh Duong people responded actively to this activity.

The March flood in Quang Nam, Quang Ngai submerged hundreds hectare of crops, especially melon. Despite of good crop, traders buy melons with low prices that made many families fall into hardship.

Students were preparing melons for selling.

Therefore, voluntary students group of universities, college in HCM City transported over 40 tons of melons for sale in southern areas. In Binh Duong province, provincial voluntary group received over 6 tons of melons for sale to support Quang Ngai people.

Student Nguyen Duy Long, head of provincial voluntary group, said, this activity was assisted by provincial Youth Union in sales locations. Sale teams comprised students of universities, college in the province. They worked enthusiastically from early morning to late at night. Melons were sold with price of VND7,000/kg. After subtracting costs, the remaining money amount was returned to Quang Ngai people.

In the fierce sun of May, spirit and determination of these students were not diminished. Majority Binh Duong people also supported deep human value of this activity. After one day, more than 2 tons of melon were sold. In the next 5 days, 6 tons of melon would be sold.

It can be said that this practical activity of national students and Binh Duong students has lit beautiful connections between people and helped our fellowmen to overcome difficulties.
