Impetus from patriotic emulation movement

“Discovery, training and expansion of typical examples” is the crucial goal of the Politburo’s Instruction No.39 on implementing patriotic emulation movement initiated in 2004. Right from launching the movement, Phu Giao district Council for Emulation and Rewards has reinforced its apparatus to excel the movement. Over the past 5 years, the locality has reached encouraging results.

In terms of economic field, the local economic growth has reached 11.6% per year with the income of VND15mil per capita per year from VND6.6mil in 2005. As of the socio-culture field, the entire district has had 34 state-run schools, 9 private nursery schools and 1 continuous educational center.

Aside from development of the educational quality, local residents’ healthcare has been paid much attention, excelling the national health programs. Such investment has helped 11 health stations at all levels reach the national standards and 100% of health stations have doctors, meeting the demand on health check-up and treatment for local people.

The most highlighted thing of the movement lies on implementation of policies for privileged families and revolutionary contributors. Over the past 5 years, the district has mobilized to build and repair 55 gratitude houses, 383 charity houses for the privileged families, pay gift visits to revolutionary contributors with the total expense of over VND1bil and so on.

Possibly speaking, fields of the patriotic emulation movement have emerged typical examples, contributing to change local residents’ life. As a result, the whole district has had 2,861 collectives and 11,844 individuals honored by all level units. Of them, one collective was awarded 2nd Class Labor Order, 2 workgroups and 2 individuals received 3rd class Labor Order and hundreds of thousands of others got merit certificates from the government and local authorities.

Possibly speaking, the patriotic emulation movement in the locality is an impetus for local socio-economic development over years.
