Inauguration of Nha Be VK102 petroleum depot

After 30 construction months, on Sep 10, Thanh Le General Import Export Trading Corporation (Thalexim) solemnly inaugurated and put the 1st stage of Nha Be VK102 Petroleum Depot into operation at Phu Xuan commune, Nha Be district, HCM City.

Binh Duong provincial leaders, High Command - Logistics Department of Military Zone 7, and Thalexim inaugurated Nha Be VK102 petroleum depot

Nha Be petroleum depot has an area of 9ha, 12 tanks, total capacity of 115,000m3, 40,000-ton wharf, which is convenient for large ship’s landing, and opened deep-water port adjacent to the sea. The port was equipped with modern machinery, standardized fire fighting preventing system with water spraying range of over 100m… The project was formed according to Circular No. 35 and 55 of Ministry of Defense with the aim to exploit, manage unused defense land for economic development purposes. The strength of High Command Military Zone 7 is solid infrastructure, logistics warehousing and stations; of Thalexim is a national focal point of petroleum import and export, which will facilitate the expansion of the distribution system to the entire region.

Speaking at the ceremony Mr. Tran Thanh Liem said: Nha Be petrol depot was a strategically important project to facilitate logistics, store gasoline according to the Government’s request, and ensure the adequate supply of gasoline for the market as well as the fulfillment of defense security and economic development tasks. This result came from the persistent cooperation process with the high responsible spirit of Binh Duong provincial leaders and of Military Zone 7 leaders, Ministry of Defence and HCMC. Binh Duong Provincial leaders hoped to receive further support of the relevant authorities to complete assigned tasks.
