Binh Duong province has continuously reached growth in terms of economy, infrastructure investment, urban rejuvenation…But, the province has faced environmental pollution. The local functional agencies has also joined hands to protect the environment.

Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment has sped up dissemination of information about environmental protection via many practical programs.

The province’s activities in response to World Environment Day, the “Clean Up the World” campaign, the National Week on Clean Water and Environmental Hygiene, “Jogging for environment”…have also contributed to raising public awareness and action of environmental protection. 

Under the campaigns of “The entire people take part in environmental protection” and “Family with five noughts and three cleans” , since 2006, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have organized 3 competitions, festivals for good propagandists on environment and 1 writing competition on clean water, environmental hygiene. In response to the model of “Clean house, garden and street”, more than 390 local farmers tidied up more than 12.5 kilometers of rural streets, cleared canals, collected and treated 14 tons of waste in the rural regions.

Provincial Youth Union also successfully held a competition for youth propaganda squad on environment and launched a writing contest on “Binh Duong’s youth think of environment”, aiming to seek practical measures and models for environmental protection. Whilst, provincial Fatherland Front Committee provided 70 bags of legal books for the local self-management squads on environmental protection; delivered 450 waste baskets to the local households…

Self-management group is one of the province’s typical models regarding environmental protection. The whole province now has 553 self-management groups on environmental protection. After being established, all the groups have worked effectively in accordance with programs put forward.

Typically, the self-management group on environmental protection in Binh Nham commune’s Binh Thuan hamlet in Thuan An town over time mobilized 79 households to install wastebaskets by themselves, monitored breeding households causing environmental pollution…The self-management group on environmental protection in Thuan Giao commune’s Binh Thuan II hamlet also mobilized the local people to make contribution to its working fund and install 10 panels on environmental protection regulations.

Over the past time, the self-management group on environmental protection of quarter 3 in Ben Cat district’s My Phuoc township worked very effectively. The self-management groups on environmental protection in Phu Giao also actively mobilized the local households to well realize regulations on environmental protection, collected waste and called for them to give up their insanitary habits…

Possibly speaking, the socialization work on environmental protection has contributed to realizing the province’s targets and tasks on environmental protection in the new period.
