On occasion of marking the 88th anniversary of Vietnamese Journalist Day (June 21, 1925 to June 21, 2013), in talks with Binh Duong Newspaper, Member of standing committee, Head of Provincial Party Committee Communication and Education, Mr. Nguyen Minh Giao affirmed that journalist sector has contributed to responsive political duty of the locality. Please evaluate the development of journalism as well as the journalists in the province in the past time? In those years, under direct leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and coordination of sectors, agencies and unions in the province, journalism has been growing and contributed to political duty. After revolution, Binh Duong Newspaper had only printing version; now that, we had the electronic version. Meantime, Binh Duong Television Station has been growing by more and more resourceful programs while other papers and magazines of departments, sectors, and agencies have been flourished for the sectional information communication. Particularly after the re-establishment of the province, journalists population has grown up in terms of quantity and quality to be in charge of the culture and ideology frontline, broadcasting to and updating information for the public in Binh Duong Province. Journalism in Binh Duong Province has been the expression of the voice of the Party Committee, the authority, local people, at utmostly the bridge connecting the people with the Party and the State. Aside from achievements, what we should do to remedy for setbacks, sir? We should be straightforward to look into setbacks in the sideline of the the proudly achievements. Article quality and diversity are not well-qualified for public life and reality regarding the policies of the Party, the State and locality. Journalistshave not equal in terms of political qualification and knowledge. This require them to be trained up to satisfy the needs in the new stage. Taking the society orientation role, what should be done so that journalism should be more contributive to general development of the province, sir? As far as propaganda of policies and guidelines of the State and the Party is concerned, journalism agencies should be improved in operation and journalists should be improved in qualification. The learning and following Ho Chi Minh moral examples in integration into journalism ethics should be boosted up.
