In the first half of 2016, Binh Duong’s industrial manufacture continued going up. The production-business activities of enterprises in the province reached growth in comparison with the corresponding period last year, contributing to promoting the local economy.

In the first half of 2016, province-based enterprises continued taking fruits in production and business. Some focused on improving production lines to meet requirements of a large amount of orders in the year. The province’s index of industrial production (IIP) during the period rose up 8.37% against the corresponding period last year. Of these, mining industry grew by 2.72% compared to the corresponding period last year. Manufacturing, processing industries achieved an increase of 8.42% while the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioners rose by 8.05%.

Tu Thi Cam Truc, representative of Wipro Unza Vietnam Co.Ltd. at Thuan An town-based VSIP 1, specialized in manufacturing shampoo and shower cream products, namely Romano, Enchanteur…said that her company in the first half of 2016 reached a growth of 20%-30% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Or, Dinh Thi Thuy Trang, representative of Al Kana Co. at TDM city-based VSIP 2, specialized in making paint products for the domestic market said that since early this year, the company’s production activities have been on smoothness with a 50% growth of the year’s plan. The company’s target on production-business this year is to obtain a growth of 35% against 2015.
According to representative of provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the province’s implementation of measures to remove difficulties to promote production-business in the first half of the year continued upholding its efficiency. Together with the impacts of the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement (TPP), the Vietnam-South Korea Free Trade Agreement, the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement…, the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) also opened up opportunities for province-based enterprises to continue working more effectively.
Focusing on fulfilling the year’s plan
Province-based enterprises have devised plenty of plans in development to achieve their targets on production and business in 2016. According to Mrs.Truc, many groups from Thailand have penetrated into Vietnamese market. This will also be a challenge for domestic companies. Hence, some will generate new products with more eye-catching patterns for better competitiveness.
Whilst, Mrs.Trang said that the company has set many major targets, tasks towards sustainable development for the rest of the year. The company will strive to complete its plan building another factory in the half of the last six months of the year. If being completed on schedule, the factory will help the company reach higher growth than the year’s plan.
To fulfill the 2016 local targets on industrial development in particular and on economic development in general, the province will further improve the investment climate, helping enterprises enhance their competitive capacity while continuing organizing dialogues with industries’ associations to opportunely remove enterprises’ drawbacks for better development in the last six months of the year.
Provincial Department of Industry and Trade will also well realize the contents of the 2016 provincial trade promotion program approved by provincial People’s Committee. And this will be one of the province’s major tasks in further promoting the local production and business activities in the coming time.
