Part 2: ability – vision

After 13 years of separation of Song Be province, present Binh Duong province has changed rapidly. In 2009despite the global economic crisis, local GDP still increased 10.5% with an average income of VND21.5mil per capita per year and industrial, service and agricultural density of 62.3%, 32.4% and 5.3%, respectively. Besides, the locality still lured US$2.468bil in FDI attraction. More importantly, local residents’ life was improved with the poverty rate decline of less than 1%.

Possibly speaking, ‘Binh Duong vision’ is an important factor for the province to create victory. In 1997-1998, amid the world economic crisis influencing on the country, Binh Duong had companies pioneering in setting up Song Than industrial park, being joint-venture to build VSIP, Binh Duong Avenue. Years later, Binh Duong industry-service-urban complex is established, extending industrial development towards local eastern and northern areas of Ben Cat and Tan Uyen districts.

Binh Duong’s marvelous development is from confidence and independence. Over the past ten years, the locality knows how to make up impetus for its growth and considers the State budget as a lever to develop a series of traffic works, hospitals, schools, irrigation system, residential areas, parks and so on. Many works have been built in the cooperation between the State and local people.

In Binh Duong, its gigantic development has been showed through asphalted and wide roads, spacious houses along streets, especially the birth of state-of-the-art Binh Duong new city. At present, the locality is home to 28 IPs, 10 industrial compounds, luring over 9,000 local projects and 1,922 foreign ones.

Binh Duong views renewal policy of the Party and State as a golden chance to affirm itself. Famous names of the local renewal process include Becamex, Thanh Le, Feb.3 company, Dau Tieng Rubber, Phuoc Hoa Rubber, Minh Long I Porcelain, Dai Nam tourism site, VSIP, Binh Duong urban-industry and service complex, Binh Duong new city and among others. Besides, there are tens of thousands of households giving tens of thousands of ha of land to local industrial development. Labor heroes of Huynh Thanh Son, Nguyen Van Hung, Ly Ngoc Minh, Le Van Khoa and so on not only are excellent managers but good examples for local young generations to become more responsible to work.

Thenceforth, thousands of typical examples have played a crucial role for Binh Duong to become a trademark of industrialization in the renewal process.
