Binh Duong Newspaper reporter interviewed Major Nguyen Cong Danh – Commissioner of Provincial Army Headquarter on the memoriable occasions of 66 years of Vietnam People’s Army establishment (December 22) and 21 years of people’s national defense movements.

 - Would you please inform us with results of people’s national defense build-up by local arm force?

 - In 2010, being assigned by higher level authority, the Party Committee of Provincial Army HQ has commanded to achieve complete results. In arm force build-up, the results are as follows:

            + Maintaining order and making step-by-step reforms to improve quality and combat effieciency of the force with better political education;

            + Promoting in-depth victory emulation;

            + Implementing movement of “learning and following Ho Chi Minh moral example”;

            + Improving leadership and combat profieciency of Party organizations and grassroots with transparent organization and better operations in districts and towns to reinforce national security and defense;

            + Promoting education and awareness of officers and soldiers;

            + Promoting roles of public organizations and unions to innovate working style of army staffs;

            + Well managing human, weapons, technical equipments and maintaining discipline to build up unity and mutual helps.

 

As a result, quantity of Party members have increased into 19.5% in 2010 from 17.49% in 2009 while 100% of army recruitment is ensured.

 

- In the coming time, what will be focused to build up people’s national defense?

 

- Under resolutions of the Party Committee and the 9th Provincial Party Congress, the provincial HQ stays focused on:

 

+ Leading and directing eduction of national defense with orderly operation of educational units with improving quality and extended teaching staffs;

+ Organizing national defense knowledge training of for officials, and religious leaders;

+ 100% of students are educated with national defense subject;

+ Enhancing responsibility of political system and the people for national defense and security to suppress peace conspiracy of rivalry forces;

+ Boosting up measures to build stronger and better public militias with increasing quantity to satisfy demands in new stages;

+ Improving housing and jobs as well as social policies to support forces of public militias;

+ Building up people’s national defense and arm force to satisfy needs of national defense in a new stage;

+ Committing to success of local tasks;

+ Building up stronger and more transparent Party Committee of the HQ;

+ Consulting with Party Committee grassroots and leading authority to effectively carry out resolution No. 28 of the Politburo to build up stronger defense lines and the 8th resolution of the 9th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on national defense strategy in new stages; conclusion No. 41 of Politburo on continuing Directive No. 16 of Secretariat under Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on improving Party leadership of people’s defense forces;

+ Publicizing laws on people’s defense;

+ Building complete and strong army facilities in the province and districts;

+ Continuing movements of “learning and following Ho Chi Minh moral example”

+ Improving combat readiness and determination to foil peace conspiracy and overturn violence of enemy forces against the Party and State;

+ Closely inspecting localities for purposes of timely consultancy for well scheduled reactions;

+ Continuing policies of logistics and gratitudes to improve trust among the public;
