The index of industrial production over the first 6 months is estimated to increase by 8.35% over the same period in 2021.

Up to now, the total investment in social development is estimated at 60,723 billion VND, up 9.6% over the same period last year. In particular, Binh Duong continues to be an attractive destination for foreign investors, from the beginning of this year to July 15, the province attracted US$ 2.54 billion, up 74% over the same period in 2021.
At the conference, the business community raised a number of difficulties, obstacles that needed to be resolved to maintain business production and development. Business representatives also contributed ideas on administrative reform, traffic, capital, science and technology development, customs procedures, import and export tax, regulations on relocation time to clusters... in order for the province to gain more sustainable development. Specifically, entering the third quarter of 2022, businesses faced many difficulties due to uncertainties about the world's political and economic situations.
Up to now, the order number of wood industry has reduced by 40%, the number of footwear, textile, and ceramic industries have reduced by 20%. To overcome difficulties and challenges, businesses and industry associations took drastic actions, changed products, extended overtime working, and share difficulties with workers. Enterprises said they were trying to overcome difficulties and challenges by implement many solutions and expected all levels and branches to share their difficulties and create favorable conditions for businesses to adapt to and survive in the current context.
Mai Huu Tin, Chairman of Binh Duong Business Federation, said that since the third quarter of 2022, enterprises had faced many difficulties due to the influence of conflicts between some countries, the world economic downturn. To overcome difficulties, businesses need the companionship and support of provincial government levels and branches in solving difficulties and speeding up the investment progress of key projects of regional linkage, especially Ring Road 4, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh, National Highway 13…
“Currently, the reluctance to and being afraid of solving administrative procedure problems at government departments and branches due to the small gap between right and wrong in regulations, making it difficult for businesses to carry out administrative procedures. I hope the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee would direct departments and branches, as facing difficult problems, to discuss with businesses to find solutions to help businesses can soon solve their internal problems and adapt well to the current situation", said Mai Huu Tin.
Find a way to open up opportunities
Mai Huu Tin claimed that despite many difficulties, Binh Duong is now a attractive destination for international investment flows. This will create opportunities for businesses in the local goods supply chain. In addition, this capital inflow also creates great opportunities for businesses to become their partners when upgrading technology, management and labor development. This is really an optimistic signal in the current volatile situation when domestic enterprises need to take drastic actions to seize chances and develop.
With the experience of an enterprise joining the world supply chain, Nguyen Duc Thuan, Chairman of Thai Binh Investment Joint Stock Company, said that the gloomy prospect of the economy in the second quarter was just temporary. "There are blessings in disaster", in difficult time, there will be specific ways to overcome, grasp the rules to survive and develop. The global supply chain does not stop but also opens up other directions only when we know how to seize opportunities.
“Currently, about 50% supply chains move from China to other countries, including Vietnam. This is an opportunity for Binh Duong enterprises to receive large orders. Difficulties and deadlocks are only temporary. Binh Duong authorities need to have a long-term plan, such as the construction of exhibition centers, displaying raw materials, training workers, preparing infrastructure, building social housing, schools, kindergartens, parks, playgrounds... All to lay a foundation to welcome the shifting supply chain", said Nguyen Duc Thuan.
Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Van Loi asked the Provincial People's Committee to direct functional departments and agencies to have more meetings with industry associations and enterprises to grasp their difficulties, problems, and to coordinate to solve problems of labor, social security... creating favorable conditions for enterprises to do business production and develop in the right direction. The province will continue to make efforts and coordinate with relevant localities and units to examine and carry out investment procedures for arterial and connecting roads; plan the development of the industrial - urban - service complex in the direction of sustainability.
