Models on food safety and hygiene replicated

The campaign of “Women nationwide actively realize food safety and hygiene for family and community’s health” is one of major tasks implemented by provincial Women’s Unions at all levels. With the theme of “Food safety”, in 2018, they have mobilized members to become propagandists and supervisors in ensuring food safety and hygiene.

Practical models

Under the theme of “Food safety”, in 2018, provincial Women’s Union and its branches have organized such useful programs as models on safe vegetable growing, clubs on safe food…TDM city’s Women’s Union has been selected as a pilot locality in setting up a club on “women with food safety and hygiene”, giving training on food safety and hygiene for officials, propagandists and members of the club. The Women’s Union branch of Phu Cuong ward has also just held a training course on safe vegetable growing for 30 members.

Whilst, the branch of Lac An commune’s Women’s Union in North Tan Uyen district has set up a club on small traders with food safety. The club is responsible for disseminating of information about keeping food safety and hygiene in trading street food, the harmfulness of plastic bags to environment and people’s health…, thereby raising women’s awareness of the importance of food safety and hygiene in daily life, contributing to protecting health of themselves and their families…

Provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have also further mobilized officials and members to give priority to using Vietnamese goods; raised their sci-tech application in production to create products with high quality, reasonable price and food safety-hygiene ensured…

Propaganda promoted

Implementing a project on “Propaganda and mobilization of women to take part in settling several social issues relating to them for the period of 2018-2017” in association with 2018’s theme “Women with food safety and hygiene”, provincial Women’s Union has organized talk shows on State administration; carried out inspection tours on food safety and hygiene at markets, small business facilities and handled wrong cases.

Provincial Women’s Union and its branches have also actively mobilized officials and members to respond to the campaign of “Women nationwide realize food safety and hygiene for family and community’s health” in association with the campaign of “Building up families with 5No-s and 3 Clean-s”; called for them not to use food with unclear origin; held training courses on how to use fertilizer and pesticide; organized a ceremony to launch the Action Month on Food Safety and Hygiene; coordinated with functional sectors to guide them to wash their hands before meals…

Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Chairwoman of provincial Women’s Union said that provincial Women’s Union and its branches have further sthengthened a task of propagandizing, mobilizing officials and members to realize food safety and hygiene. They have also teamed up with functional agencies to tighten control over food trading facilities; maintained models on food safety…to ensure a supply of safe food, thereby contributing to dealing with issues on food safety for community’s health…
