Over the past years, from policies of urging overseas Vietnamese to invest in homeland, hundreds of Overseas Vietnamese (OV) mobilize capital to start business in Binh Duong. Many enterprises uphold economic efficiency and build their trademarks, contributing to local economic growth.
OV’s businesses uphold efficiency
One of the most highlighted characters of Binh Duong province lies in FDI capital attraction with impressive results. Accordingly, many OV’s companies have involved business start-up in Binh Duong, contributing to local socio-economic development.
Huu Toan JSC in Thuan An town, invested by Vietnamese American is a typical business. The company bravely invests in technology and human resources. Therefore, Huu Toan rapidly becomes a strong trademark, annually offering more than 200,000 products with high quality under standard ISO 9001:2008 certified by UKAS (the UK). In 2014, the company contributed greatly to charity work.
Like Huu Toan JSC, Dan On Ltd.Co. in Hiep An ward, Thu Dau Mot city, invested by Vietnamese Canadian rapidly affirms its position on the local and outbound markets.
Besides, there are many other enterprises invested by OVs in Binh Duong province. These companies include Cuong Lam Co.Ltd (invested by Vietnamese Canadian), Hung Thinh Gia Co.Ltd. (Vietnamese American), Lua Vang JSC (Vietnamese Australian), Tang Lam Co.Ltd. (Vietnamese Swiss) and more.
Trinh Chau Pha, Vietnamese American, is one of people paying great contributions to introduce OVs to invest in Binh Duong. She shared “over the past years thanks to preferential policies for OVs, more and more OVs invest in homeland. In Binh Duong, we are very impressive on local infrastructure facilities, policies and investment environment. These elements create impetus for OVs to invest in homeland”.
Mobilizing strength of OVs
Until now, Binh Duong has about 200 projects invested by OVs with the total capital of about VND4tril, contributing significantly to the provincial socio-economic growth. OVs’ investment fields in Binh Duong is very plentiful and various with areas such as transport, food processing, mechanics, fertilizer, handicraft, timber processing, real estate and so on. According to the provincial department of Foreign Affairs, the locality now has more than 10,000 OVs living in many various nations and territories such as the US, France, Canada, the UK, Germany, Australia.
On average, more than 5,000 OVs in Binh Duong entry and exit every year and about 550 OVs stay in the province per day. This is a great potential for the province to urge OVs to invest in homeland.
Le Phu Hoa, director of the provincial department of Foreign Affairs said that over the past 10 years Binh Duong has well implemented the Politburo’s Resolution No.36 on activities for OVs in foreign nations. At annual meetings for OVs, local leaders always hope that OVs will act for local significant benefits. From these meetings, local leaders urge young generations born in foreign nations to bound for homeland, contributing to local growth.
The entire province now has 10 societies for OVs with nearly 400 members. These societies often hold exchange activities to promote the national cultural identity as well as disseminate the Party and State’s preferential policies to OVs. Through these societies, many OVs promote economic potentials, intellectual to invest in homeland and join in charity activities.
